Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm (Xbox 360, 2008)

Buying this item was very simple. I used to fish crab myself in real life. So this was an easy buy for me. So comparing the game to the real thing which was what impressed me the most. The amount of movement and interaction with the crew, the functionality of the fishing boat is very accurate and is as close to a simulator as you will get to the real thing. So for those gamers out there who want to know what its like in real life to fish for crab, this is the game for you! All except for the fact you don't get wet, tired hungry, injured and the room is not constantly moving!

Look, I'll be honest. This isn't the most graphically advanced game in the world (in fact, it's been likened to that of a PS2 game) and it's not the most action packed.

BUT, if you would like to play a game that's accurate to the Discovery Channel show and the lives of the men who are on it then this is the game for you! :)

Sure, the game play is slow and it takes a long time to finish a season, but guess what, so does the real thing. This is more of a simulator like The Sims where the game play is slow but it's the simulation that makes it fun. If you're looking for action packed high seas adventure, you might want to just pick up a copy of Pirates of the Caribbean on DVD.

The IGN review said it best in that it is what it is. This is the best Crab Fishing game available and is true to the show and the crab fishing industry.

Overall, as a fan of the show and a gamer, I've enjoyed the game a lot! If you're going to buy this game, just don't expect it to be something it's not.

Deadliest catch is a great game for people who love strategy. Its the kind of game where you can't beat it but you keep playing trying to beat your old score. I really enjoy the show Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel. It has humor and follows the lives of people who do one of the deadliest jobs in the world to make a years worth of living money in one week. I always thought that this would be a great game and it turns out to be better than i expected.

If you are a fan of the t.v. show Deadliest Catch then this is a must have for you. It puts you out on the Bering Sea in 5 different ships that have been featured on the T.V. show. Join Capt. Sig as he teaches you how to drive the boat, set the crab pots, work with the crew, and retrieving pots. There are also mini games that you can play. Try your hand at throwing the hook, test your skills in parking the boat in a crowded dock. Don't miss out on this game.

I bought this game when it first arrived on store shelves and thought it was great. I didnt own a HD tv at the time so some of the grapics were hard to make out. But other than that the game is fun thats why i'm buying it again because now i have a brand new tv to play it on.
