The first day I received the drill I put it straight to work. It was fantastic. The power and the extreme longlasting battery life was quite unexpected. I completed my job without ever having make a battery exchange which helped speed job time. The abilities of this Dewalt drill far exceed other drills that I have owned and used.
Just got my dewalt drill in time to hang some blinds. I had been using my full size dewalt but it was a little big in close spaces. I took the battery out of the big drill and it popped right into the compact. I drilled pilot holes with no problem and then went to put in 1 1/2" #6 screws but it just have enough power to put them all the way in. I had to go back to my big drill to finish the job. All in all it's a very nice drill for light duty and I'm still very happy to have it.
This is my first Dewalt tool of any kind, and it's impressive. I bought it because I wanted to have something that was better than what I have now. At first handling of it. I thought it was kind of heavy, if you're going to be using it in an awkward position, your wrist might get cramps. Upon weighing it with battery attached, my scale says 4 lbs and 13 ounces. The weight is in the motor, but it does feel like its balanced. The light under the adjustment knob, is okay, but haven't had a chance to really try it out yet. The motor sounds impressive, and it's quick stop, is like stomping on your car brakes. This battery can be charged with the DW9116 charger. It is a variable speed drill with more pressure on the trigger you increase the speed. Not much else to say about it, as time will tell I hope to get a lot of use out of it.
it is the best battery drill i have ever owned. a friend was using one on a deck driving 3 inch screws thro 2+4s i had a chance to try it out, none could compare to the steady power it had.went all afternoon about 4 hours without charging.i have no dislikes adout the drill at all, liked the price the most.there is no comparrison to other drills i have owned or used. should have bought two for that price.
I've used DeWalt products for a long time, this is defiantly an upgrade from the last one I had especially the 1/2" chuck which gives it more versatility. I also liked the compact carrying case, and the two 18v Batteries with charger. great all around
