Album Notes
Personnel: Yolanda Adams (vocals); Donnie McClurkin, Mary Mary (vocals); Gregory Curtis (various instruments, background vocals); Paul Jackson, Jr. , Philip Hamilton, Todd Parsnow (guitar); Bobby Sparks (keyboards, mini-Moog synthesizer, programming); Barry J. Eastmond (keyboards, bass guitar, programming); Keith Taylor (bass guitar); Iz, Luis Conte (percussion); Chris Godbey (programming); Gordon Chambers, Keith Allen , Sharon Bryant, Lisa Curtis, Demeka Jackson (background vocals). With its heavy R&B leanings, DAY BY DAY is easily one of gospel singer Yolanda Adams's most accessible and energetic records. However, this doesn't mean that her messages of praise get lost in the potent pop-tinged production; in fact, Adams is as passionate as ever about her faith, as revealed on the formidable opening track, "Victory," which immediately shines a spotlight on her powerful vocals. Renowned producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis contribute to a trio of tracks here (most notably the buoyant "Lift Him Up," featuring Donnie McClurkin and Mary Mary), while gospel-crossover icon Kirk Franklin oversees two songs (the smooth jam "Tonight" and the Quiet Storm tune "Show Me"). As always, Adams expertly walks the line between secular and Christian music, ensuring that fans will be entertained and uplifted regardless of religious ties.

DAY BY DAY

Created: 07/05/06
This is an amazing CD by one of the most incredible voices in music today. Yolanda Adams has collaborated with incredible producers like Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (best known for their collaboratio with Janet Jackson) and other gospel personalities like Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, and Donnie McClurkin. The songs are lyrically uplifting with soaring melodies and all sung by a voice that is clearly blessed! Yolanda Adams could sing the phone book! Truly, this is a CD that you need to own.

Disappointed in "Day by Day"

Created: 02/13/08
I decided to purchase this CD because of how much I love the 2001 CD, "Believe," by Yolanda Adams. This lastest purchase, "Day by Day," is four years newer (2005 release) but it is not the quality of gospel/pop that diva Yolanda Adams is famous for presenting to her fans. There are only two cuts that I even like listening to on this CD: "tonight," and "this too shall pass." These two songs are representative of the beautiful singing voice of Yolanda Adams. They are magnificent. The other ten cuts are forgettable songs with entirely too much "screeching" and rap/hip hop-type lyrics for my tastes. She seems to "stretch" her vocal limits and it does not work on this CD. This CD is not one I would have purchased if I had knownthis before finding it on ebay. I love Yolanda's voice but this CD is definitely not up to her standards or to mine. Try "Believe" from 2001 and forget this one. Take my advice. I do love her voice but I am 75% disappointed in this one compared to her other works of pure vocal art.

Day by Day: Phenomenal!!

Created: 06/06/07
I have grown a bit tired (God forgive me) of the Christian pop music played on our local Christian radio station. It is very repetitive. After attending a cross cultural women's conference and hearing one of Yolanda Adams' songs, I knew I wanted the CD. I am not disappointed. As a matter of fact, I love it. She has great vocal ability and is very passionate about the lyrics that she is singing. The R & B rhythms are a welcome change. It is a definite must have!!!

I am a fan of yolanda. I got this cd because I love the song Victory! Which is the first song up here, it's great. I also love the song Blessed up here. WOw~ there is only 3 songs up here that I really care for, but all of them are good. I would recommend it, especially for the price you can get it for up here on ebay~ Worth the money~

I have been a fan of Yolanda Adams a long time. I purchased this CD years ago & loaned it to a friend that never returned it. I love the CD so I bought it again. This is music that doesn't get old
