Album Notes
Danzig: Glenn Danzig (vocals); John Christ (guitar); Eerie Von (bass); Chuck Biscuits (drums).Recorded at Hollywood Sound Recorders, Larrabee Sound Studios and Summa Music Group, Los Angeles, California. While Danzig's sophomore effort from 1990, DANZIG II: LUCIFUGE, wasn't exactly as strong as the band's self-titled debut, it still managed to contain several standout tracks that remain among Danzig's all-time best. While the debut wasn't an immediate hit upon release, it succeeded in attracting a wider metal following (Glenn Danzig's previous bands specialized in punk) and establishing the band as one of hard rock's most promising new acts. DANZIG II also took more chances musically than its predecessor--while the majority of the album is rock-based, other styles are touched upon that were previously unexplored by the band."Her Black Wings" remains one of Danzig's most evil-sounding compositions (especially its sinister guitar riff), and became a popular video on MTV's Headbanger's Ball program. Also included is the explosive album (and subsequent concert) opener, "Long Way Back From Hell," as well as such other rockers as "Snakes of Christ" and "Tired of Being Alive." But the biggest surprises on DANZIG II: LUCIFUGE are undoubtedly the tender, Elvis Presley-sounding composition "Blood and Tears" and the semi-ballad "Devil's Plaything."

This is my third purchase of this CD (one stolen, one trashed by a rug rat) and for good reason: This is Glenn's best work. Ever.

The original Danzig, the band, lineup: Glenn, John, Chuck, Eerie will always be the best and the bluesy gloom and feeling of Danzig II will never be equalled.

Danzig II

if you own Danzigs first album, it only makes sense to own Danzig II-Lucifuge

this album conatains bluesy rock..you can see where Danzig gets his influences.
you take some Elvis, a little bit of Jim morrison, and some howlin wolf..mix it up and you have the voice of Danzig, he is really an underrated singer.and the first four Danzig album show us just how versatile of a hard rock singer Danzig is.
if you look past Danzigs cartoon like image, youll find real talent...

Danzig II is a well produced, hard rocking album..

Danzig II: Lucifuge

When Lucifuge was released,I was at the mall, waiting to get it on tape.I was so stoked, being obsessed with the first album for the last 2 years. After I bought it,I popped it in,I thought, what the fu*k is this ? I hated it.All slow and blues like.Everyone of my cumps in my clan(back in the day) felt the same way.Well,as the saying goes,"young and dumb".I'm now double the age I was when it came out.I can say now that it is one of the best ever punk/metal releases.I can't get enough of it,it's the best Danzig, period. And yeah,I've met him before,he's a jack-off,but Lucifuge is timeless........

this is an awesome album, very good, you won get bored with these songs.i think this album is beter then their 1st by a long shot, not taken anything away from the 1st but damn! such songs as killer wolf, her black wings and devils plaything will give u a badass feel. then he shakes it up a bit which i really like from artists, he puts a bluesy song on here "im the one".good album, its worth about 12-14$
