I have the whole set from Season 1 to Season 7. I can't wait for the complete set of seasons to become available. I have the JR Returns and War of the Ewings as well. These shows are the best in nighttime soap opera's. You love to hate JR and it is hard to beleive how predictable and stupid Cliff can be. To watch their lives all working for and against each other is better than anything I have found on TV today.
When I start watching the show I start from season one and watch the whole set thru to whatever is the current available. The building of charactors and story lines make it impossible to put down. About once a year I watch the whole set.
I also think it is interesting to see how many of the cast were directing the shows from time to time as well. If you like drama and have not watched these, then you are missing the best of the best.
I DECIDED TO BUY THIS BECAUSE I HAVE BOUGHT THE PREVIOUS SEASONS AND I ENJOY THEM. I WAS 9 OR 10 WHEN THIS SHOW WAS POPULAR, I CAUGHT IT ON TNN ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO ON RERUNS AND GOT HOOKED. TO BE HONEST, I FAST FORWARD THROUGH THE SAPPY SOAPY PARTS, I LIKE WATCHING J.R. EWING AND HIS WAY OF HANDLING LIFE AND BUSINESS. SEASON 3 WAS REALLY GOOD AND UP UNTIL THIS ONE WAS RELEASED, IT WAS MY FAVORITE. THIS ONE IS EASILY THE BEST SO FAR. J.R. GETS TO PULL A GUN ON SOMEONE INSTEAD OF THE OTHER WAY AROUND. J.R. GETS DOUBLE CROSSED AND FINDS OUT CLIFF WAS BEHIND IT, AND SETS HIM UP FOR AN EXPENSIVE FALL. IN AN ATTEMPT TO RAISE THE BID ON OFFSHORE DRILLING, J.R. BLACKMAILS A GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL, WHO TRIES TO COMMIT SUICIDE TO GET OUT OF DOING THINGS J.R.'S WAY. WHEN HE FAILED AT THAT, J.R. INFORMS HIM THAT EVEN IF HE HAD BEEN SUCCESSFUL, HE (J.R.) WOULD HAVE STILL WENT THROUGH WITH THE BLACKMAIL BEFORE HIS CORPSE EVEN STARTED GETTING COLD. J.R. HAS EVERYTHING IN HIS CONTROL EXCEPT HIS HOME LIFE. LIKE I SAID, THIS ONE IS WORTH THE MONEY, AND I HOPE SEASON 8 IS JUST AS GOOD AS THIS ONE!!!
As with every other Dallas season, Season 7 starts out with a bang... of fire, that is. Southfork is set ablaze and Pam & Bobby split up, just as everyone else is teaming up with a new lover. This season continues to portray the Ewings in a ever-boiling pot of backstabbing deals, drama, jealousy, dishonesty, blackmail and the always popular drink. If you're a fan of the show, don't miss Season 7 - the crookedness continues!!
I really think some of us need to invest in some of these older television shows. They just do not make them like this anymore, you always found yourself rooting for JR Ewing. I cannot wait until I finish the series.
First I love JR. No dislike about this at all. I have always been a huge Dallas Fan and can't wait until season 12 come out in January.
