Movie synopsis
Though credited with discovering the structure of DNA, Nobel Prize-winning biologists James Watson and Francis Crick took a key part of their data--an X-ray image dubbed ''Photo 51"--from Rosalind Franklin, who was never credited. Franklin died at age 37, in 1958, before her contribution to science could ever be acknowledged. This episode of NOVA explores the life of this fascinating woman, her pioneering work in a traditionally male-dominated field, and how close she was discovering the structure of DNA herself.

This is the best DVD when teaching the discovery of DNA

Excellent representation of the competition to discover the structure of DNA. Focuses on personalities, and the unknown race among the characters involved. Give credit to Rosalind Francklin for her tremendous work in crystallography.
