Questions and answers about this item
The reason why I bought a 722K Dish network receiver is because I already have a 722 Dish Network receiver and was pleased with it. The difference between a 722 and a 722K is that the 722K do not have an over the air reception module to receive local channels. You need to buy the additional over the air module in order for the 722k to receive over the air local channels. I bought the over the air module and works perfectly and has the advantage that you can see and record locals channels in TV1 and TV2 and that’s and upgrade for the 722 where you can not record local channels and can only see local channels in TV1.
The 722k is an excellent receiver. Since the receiver has two tuners you can receive and see two different channels in two different TVs. The picture in TV1 is HD and excellent; the picture in TV2 is not as good as in TV1 but is acceptable; there’s no HD in TV2. You can record two different programs at the same time. I have notice that this receiver, as almost all Dish Network receivers, freeze the picture and the receiver and you need to disconnect the receiver from the power and restart it again. This annoyed because in order to restart the receiver you need about 5 minutes and you can lost the most important part of the program that you are seeing. In all I gives all the stars to this receiver and positively recommend it and yes if I need to buy one additional receiver this is the one that I will buy.
One of the latest model in digital receivers, lot of options to use for, compatible to see 2 tv"s at the same time with different programing. I have enjoy it. I recommend it.
Great price for a great product. I have now gone back to dish after being with AT&T uverse. I have learned just why jd power consistently gives the boxes from dish awards. They work marvelously! Dish also does not nickel and dime you to death like AT&T. This box is fantastic. It has a large hard drive with plenty of space so far. The fact that it is dual box that Canberra used in two different rooms is a great plus. I can't believe I even strayed away!
I bought this receiver so I could record events and programs to view at a later time. The advantage to this Dishnet it has the ability to have two programs showing in different roomsI like the features of the Dish network 722 and you can also record a third program all at the same time. I do not know how it compairs to other units, I purchased this one because I have a dish network system.
