Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio - SB0790
Created: 04/14/10
If you are looking to improve the sound qualities of your current PC based on-board sound capabilities this is the way to go. I needed something to enhance the the playback of my many MP3 files that I have. I have a Bose Sound system and just didn't think is was being used to it's maximum potential.
I purchased a full height PCI version of this card, well I have a SFF PC that uses 1/2 height cards. After a little fabricating with a dremel tool the effort was worth the extra time it took to make the bracket.
Installation was a snap and just down loaded the current drivers from the Creative site and Voila...... now that's what Bose speakers are supposed to sound like.
This was the final piece of hardware I needed to turn my $40.00 Dell GX260 yard sale purchase PC into a Media Center PC.

Words can't describe the clairity, cripsness and precision of the sound this card produces. The 24-bit crystallizer is in a word MIND-BLOWING.
If you buy an X-Fi Soundcard, even if it is the most basic one, you will be blown away. I van hear elements of my music that I have never heard before, even on a Bose Sound System.
God Himself must have an X-Fi Sound Card in his computer... it's jsut that heavenly.

I had no preconceptions about what this device would do, I was more curious than anything.
After an easy install and quick download of drivers provided on a disc, I fired up some music and was very pleasantly surprised.
This is an inexpensive and easy way to improve the sound from your PC.
