THIS DVD MAKES YOU CRY AND MAKES YOU SMILE. I LOVE THIS DVD..... I HAVE WATCHED IT SO MANY TIMES AND NEVER GET TIRED OF SEEING IT. WHEN MY GRANDKIDS GET OLDER I WANT THEM TO WATCH IT WITH ME. THIS MOVIE BRINGS OUT SO MANY EMOTIONS AND MAKES YOU REALIZE HOW CRUEL PEOPLE CAN BE. A GREAT ENDING THAT MAKES YOU CRY OF JOY!!! JUST A BEAUTIFUL STORY WITH EXCELLENT ACTING!!!!
I love this movie! I think it is a classic! Whoopi Goldberg was amazing as the title character. It gives an unbelievable insight into the life and times of the people of that era. I bought this dvd as a present but have a dvd of it also in my personal collection.
A great story of a journey of a poor girl who is forced by her father to get married very young and live a life of captivity. She lives in constant fear of voicing her opinion or going against anything that her husband says,in order to avoid a beating. Forced to be sworn off from seeing her sister again, she holds out hope that they will someday reunite again.
This movie is portrays the excellent acting skills of Whoopi Goldberg and Danny Glover and a cast of many other great actors.
I disliked the fact the man Celie new as her father saw fit to make her do what her mother wouldn't which was to have sex with him and have 2 children with him that he took from her and sold.
And that Albert had to be an abusive husband and father, but the selfless act in the end was a good start to rebuilding his character.
I purchased the movie just so that i could watch it daily if that is what i want to do. I think this is a movie that everyone should have in there library. I loved the fact that the sister were still able to reunite after all the years of being seperated.
If you have not seen this movie buy a copy today you will not regret it
Color Purple is one of the best movie you will ever see. It is the type of movie you will remember for the rest of your life. Great class of actors and actresses. I will very highly recommend this movie to anybody. Without this movie, your movie library is incomplete. If you never watch this movie, take time to do so. If you have watch this movie, buy it.
