Fun Family Christmas Movie

Christmas with the Kranks is a fun, light hearted comedy about a man and his wife who decide to "skip" christmas because there only daughter won't be there for the first time. The father played by Tim Allen is totally caught up in the idea of skipping christmas and instead wants to take a cruise christmas day. The mother played by Jamie Lee Curtis is a house wife who is fine with the idea, but has a tough time skipping all the christmas traditions. The day before christmas as they are packing, they get a phone call from their daughter saying she is coming home for christmas! The rest of the movie is them trying to get everything ready for christmas like their idea of skipping it had never occurred. I love this movie because the neighborhood they live on is crazy over christmas. All the decorations in this movie are beautiful and its a good movie for the whole family!!!! Its a great addition to your christmas collection.

Funny!

This movie is based on the book "Skipping Christmas" by John Grisham. In it, a couple decide that since their daughter is away at a missionary they are going to skip the whole Christmas holiday tradition and go on vacation instead. That is until, at the last minute, their daughter calls and says she's on her way home, and with her new fiance. They must now try to put together the elaborite traditions, party, etc., in less than a day on Christmas eve! Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen are hilarious in this comic Christmas caper!

A great Variety of Entertainment

I have to say the variety of entertainment is pretty great. It has comedy, little drama with the theif, action, and even some very touching moments. It covers alot of things we all have considered or will consider regarding Christmas in our lives. Tim Allen and Jamie Curtis act pretty good together. They could have picked a better actress as the daughter in my opinion. The big names such as Dan Akroyd, Cheech and a few others made this a movie to enjoy around the holidays or anytime of the year.

Christmas with the Kranks (2005)

If I keep renting movies this bad, the fast-forward button on my remote will be worn out in no time. Kranks is one of the worst holiday movies EVER MADE!!! And that's not saying much!

If you're a Tim Allen fan or a Jamie Lee Curtis fan you might enjoy this movie, but chances are you'll find it just as unfunny and downright ridiculous as I did.

Have you seen the preview for this movie? If you have, you'll have already seen every single funny moment this movie has to offer.

On the plus side, this movie does teach you a valuable lesson about christmas, but so does How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which is a movie you can actually site through without wanting to pull out your eyeballs.

Rent or Buy: Unless you're a Tim Allen or Jamie Lee Curtis fan, or you really enjoy movies where absolutely nothing goes right, and you really need to learn a lesson about the TRUE MEANING of CHRISTMAS, steer clear. But if you're really curious as to what all the fuss is about, save yourself $15 and rent it.

This is one of those movies that get better every time you view it- Do yourself a favor and watch it again for the first time, you'll be glad you did- Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis are great and the supporting cast will not disappoint you! A great family holiday film by any standard!
