The Casio G'zOne Rock is military-certified to withstand a variety of environmental hazards, plus it features outdoor-specific applications like a compass and a thermometer. It also has EV-DO Rev. A, Push-to-Talk, GPS, a 2.0-megapixel camera, and more.
The Casio G'zOne Rock is rather bulky, the music player interface is a little sluggish, and both photo and call quality could be improved.
The Casio G'zOne Rock is the ultimate all-in-one phone for the outdoors enthusiast, but we did wish it had better performance.

Nice phone. I like its looks. It is a very tough phone and if this one dies I'll get another. That all said here are the things I don't like about it. It can be a little difficult to get the right button some times. You try to turn on the flashlight and instead you end up with the contacts. The battery life was a little disappionting in comparison to a G'zOne Boulder with a 1540mAh battery. The rock has a 1150mAh battery. The boulder I could go 5 days of just phone calls and it still wouldn'tbe dead but the rock Ican go 3.5 to 4. When you use the mp3 player the batery drains faster. I upgraded from a boulder. I also wish casio hadn't move the vioce commands to the clear button. If you push the clear button too many times you get vioce commands. The screen can be a little slow somtimes. It can take a little getting use to because of the noisecanceling mike. If you are to far away people can't hear you. Now for the cool features. The gzgear has a lot of neat tools, themometer, compass, step counter ect. The outside speaker is amazing for a waterproof phone and is very clear. It has outside controls which are a little clunky but work great. I still haven't figured how to run the mp3 player totally from the outside. No big deal I just open it up and set it where I want it than pause it or change tracks from the outside when needed. It comes down to this if you want an iphone get a iphone but if tou want a phone that will withstand anything get a Rock.
The ROCK, is just that a rock or just as tough as one. Being a big fan of these indestructible casio phones, i've owned 3 of them, the type V (the 1st in the series), the ravine (one of the newest) and now the rock(the model just before the ravine). I like this one the best, even better than the ravine. The rock has a push button feature to flip open the phone and a feature with the GZ gear that allows you to go to the last feature you visited in the GZ gears menu. Its a great choice, of course its waterproof and super tuff, i fish alot and and like to have my phone handy, even in the pool i just put it on the railing and don't think twice about it.. I love the walking counter i'm very active and with this feature i can keep track of how many miles i've walked and the calories i've burned. Unless your a big texter, for those of you that text all day you probably want the casio brigade which has a full keyboard.
phone is excellent, it is very rugged phone that's why i bought it i am hard on phones and always working out side its waterproof which is great when i am out on my boat,or working and get caught in the rain, the phone has good receiving and sending , i had the boulder before this one and it was good also, but you could not open it with one hand like this one.great.....the gps, moon, tides, pedometer, compass, are great they insure if you are out in the wild and get turned around use the phone to direction of travel....i bought the extended battery and the phone will last close to 5 days with charging, but i dont call much some texting....but thats good....casio phones are very good quality and will alwalys buy them...you will get your moneys worth....i know i will my last phone i used for close to 4 years.....just cause it was dependable.....thanks casio.....
bought the BRIGADE three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this phone. It has a 3M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone.
This is a great phone. I have had this model for over 2 years now. I dont know where i would be without it. I love the very bright flashlight and use it everyday. I live in the jungles of hawaii and the fact that this is water proof is the greatest thing. i have drug this phone in mud puddles, grease from working on cars, working on heavy machinery. I drop this phone i would guess at least 20-30 times a day and it still works great. I love the reception that this phone has as well. It out preforms every other verizon phone that i have had and that other i know have when it comes to working in places with bad service. I dont use the internet, music features, or much else besides the camera, texting, and phone calls. Camera takes good pictures. This is the upgrade from the casio boulder. I had the boulder before this phone, and i really like it better. one major thing is that when you drop the rock, the microSD card doesnt come loose. that was a major problem with the bolder. All in all i am very happy with this phone, and i just bought this one for my wife to upgrade her boulder. I recommend it to anyone that is looking for a phone, that is a phone!!
