|Once you've got the new EXILIM Zoom EX-Z750 in your hands, you won't want to part with it: 7.2 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and a large 2.5-inch TFT colour display as well as an optical viewfinder. The digital camera will thrill you with innovative technology and outstanding power. It makes photography a special experience. The finishing on the compact digital camera with its matt-brushed metal casing is not only high quality and well-designed, but thanks to the EXILIME Engine also extremely powerful. In addition, it also impresses with unbelievable speed: the camera is ready for use in approx. 0.9 seconds and impresses with a shutter-release delay of only approx. 0.007 seconds. When ready, the door is open for diverse photo ideas and movies - the EX-Z750 takes up to 325 pictures with just one charging of the SUPER LIFE battery. It keeps fast sequence photos and snapshots just as ready as manual setting possibilities for creative picture compositions. The EXILIM user can access them simply and quickly via the mode dial. Additionally, the EX key allows fast access to the basic functions of the EX-Z750. If you prefer to rely on pre-recorded scenes, you can choose the BESTSHOT function. The picture scenarios typical for EXILIM were increased by new BESTSHOT programs. With "Art Shot", for example, photos become small works of art that seem to stem from painting. Whether pastel, pop or cross screen filter - the imagination knows no borders. However, the program "ID Shot" is business-oriented and automatically duplicates a photographed portrait several times and arranges it on a photo in the right size for official documents. The "Continuous Zoom Shooting", which is also new, saves having to choose the right zoom factor. With one click of the shutter release it takes two pictures at the same time with different image sections. The autofocus light assist provides even better focusing in a dark environment, and dark motifs are well-illuminated thanks to the integrated flash with red eye-reduction.Moments intended to be taken in motion are recorded with sound by the small lifestyle camera as a movie in MPEG-4 format without time limit. The EXILIM user will become the perfect director once and for all with the new Movie BESTSHOT function, which offers creative scope when recording movies. For example, the Past Movie function: it continuously records where the person filming aims the lens. After pressing the shutter release it also stores the last five seconds before the beginning of the recording. On the other hand, short movies of up to eight seconds long are shot in the Short Movie function. Here too, the EXILIM user can freely choose the start of the recording and decide whether the film should be recorded before, during or after the shutter release has been pressed. If you would like to print out the single picture of a movie, you can do this in the Motion Print function. It releases a single picture as a photo from the movie and joins it together on request with eight other randomly selected pictures into a collage. The USB docking station with high-speed USB 2.0 is used for the transfer of the picture data on the PC and supports PictBridge and USB Direct Print Standard. Movies and photos can also be viewed directly on the television by means of AV-output to the docking station or the optionally available AV cable.Besides the SUPER LIFE battery and docking station, the package also includes USB cable, extensive software on CD-ROM and hand carrier straps. In the current EXILIM look are optionally available a fast battery charger, portable AV cable for connecting the camera directly with the TV and other accessories as well as camera bags and neck straps, a media case for storing memory cards and other accessories.|

i bough this orignally from this very site Ebay for $290 (s/h included, oct 2005) and i've had it for a few months now and everything still works fine. I upgraded from an older casio (exz50). Pictures are excellent with the exception of low lights such as at night; it gets pretty grainy, even with flash. This was the same with my older casio (exz50). i think it is one of casio's major flaws. the flash is also very weak. To make up, I like to use one of its "best shot" mode: "night", but its a slow shutter so u have to be very still for a while or its gonna get messed up (blurry specificallly). But that function would only be practical with scenaries, because your friends would get annoyed having to pose for so long haha. Another thing is pictures can get a little bit over-saturated, but you could turn it down a notch. Of course like most cameras, the quality is perfect in daylight, but i'd like to use my camera anytime 24 hrs.
Movie mode is a + with the exeption of it only being able to "digital zoom" during a movie(no point in zooming because quality lowers the more u zoom). But as this camera rivals with the canon SD500 or 550, its the same. i was able to test it at the shop. in fact I don't know any digi cam that can "opt zoom" during a movie, so that quality wouldnt change, but if you do, let me know! The reason why chose this over the SD500/550 is because its manually operated/functional where as the canon is just point-and-shoot, more "automatically", but sometimes that's not such a good thing because u want to be able to adjust things.
battery life is a +++ (record breaking), but i guess thats the reason for grainy LCD in low light and weak flash. Oh and did i mention it has a crzy-grainy LCD display at night? not to be confused with grainy PICTURES at night. ITS BOTH.
the resolution isn't really that good for a 7.2mp, not to mention that the files for are overwhelming big and waste of space on the computer. Sadly usually i set it to 5.0mp resolution because it has the same effect + smaller size files. Every now and then i regret getting this camera.
about the physical qualities of it..i'v heard a lot about its fragile LCD and optical zoom so i tried to be really careful with it. I've heard that it tends to turn on by itself while in the bag therefore the opt zoom breaks. I havent had any "breakage"..............yet. (hopefully, i'll edit this review one day to a "never".)
Overall its very useful and has a lot of functions; thats whats keeping me from giving it a 3, but for sure its not a 5.
First. This camera has a PAST MOVIE function. That means it will take a movie of something that happened UP TO 5 SECONDS BEFORE YOU PRESSED THE SHUTTER! You NEVER "miss a shot"! Sports shots, racing accidents, kids & pets do something cute, you have everything that happened 5 seconds BEFORE you pressed shutter! THAT NOW ONLY COMES ON VERY EXPENSIVE CAMERAS.
Second-The lcd screen is NOT fragile.I carried mine for over5 yrs without breaking, some people are just careless. Aperson I asked to take a picture broke my lcd screen by having TWO cameras banging together hanging from her wrist. I REPLACED THE SCREEN MYSELF JUST A MONTH AGO FOR $20, The new LCD screen can be bought on E-BAY, it's easy to replace and the step by step how to instructions for this model are shown on YOUTUBE.
After tiring of hauling around SLR type digital cameras, I purchased this camera as a competent replacement that I could slip into my pocket. I'm no professional photographer, but like to have my pictures look nice and this camera really fits the bill.
The size - it is remarkably small. I purchased this site unseen, only relying on reviews and was shocked to see how small it was in relation to it's features. Extremely portable, make sure to use the wrist strap so that you don't end up dropping it.
The battery - This thing seemingly NEVER runs down. I take pictures probably two or three days out of the week, and I am running on a full charge after 25 days of use with this camera. It is unbelievable, by far the longest lasting battery I have ever experienced with a camera.
The display - Nice, sharp 2.5" LCD, works wonderfully
The best shot settings - gives a lot of options and includes different movie settings too
Movie setting - sharp 30 fpm, as clear as any video camera I have ever had
The zoom - After having a camera with a 10X optical zoom, the 3X leaves me wanting, but it really is a rare instance that I really need it, just a nice to have that I miss
Expensive accessories - You either have to place it in the dock or buy an expensive cable to display the pics on a TV
Overall, this was a very good purchase for me and an excellent choice for a point and shoot hi res digital camera. The zoom is the only thing keeping me from rating this 5/5
Likes: LCD Screen - virtually no lag, sharp and detailed pictures. Love the calender playback mode which allows you to see which photos you took on certain days. Lightning fast turn on and shot-to-shot times. Battery life is exceptional (this was one of the main reasons I bought this camera, I figure what good is a camera if it lies dead in your backpack - this battery is good for a day of shooting +). Solid metal and plastic body which could probably take some abuse. The camera definetly has a wow factor with the combination small body/large lcd/lightning fast boot times.
Dislikes: Optical viewfinder is useless, low-light performance is subpar due to small flash and noise at higher iso(s). Photos are a tad bit oversaturated but this can be adjusted in the camera settings. Cradle seems a little flimsy compared to the camera but does the job.
Summary: Overall this is one of the best subcompacts I have owned. I prefer this one over the Sony Cybershots because I think it has better handling for its size, yet it's small enough to stash away in a shirt pocket. It makes a great companion for those quick shots that you just can't miss, and the movie modes are some of the best i've seen - including a mode that starts recording 5 seconds before you even press the shutter so you are sure to capture the shots you are looking for. I personally wouldn't use the camera for large prints above the 11x14 range, but I feel that is more than adequate for smaller print sizes. Of course noise will only be a major issue if you are trying to produce large prints from this camera, which I would personally leave to a dSLR in low-light settings. While probably not suitable for "pro" applications, Any average user will be more than pleased with this camera, as its use is intended for.
I bought the Casio EX-Z750 because mine had been stolen. I could not be more happy with this camera or the seller. I love the large screen. It takes fantastic pictures. Hopefully, I will be able to hold on to this one. Thank you eBay and thank you to the wonderful seller who included everything with it and more.
