beautiful flash for small non-SLR body like that of a G series. its response to dark interiors is as good as the in-camera flash of the G12 (for example) or even better depending on how well you adjust the settings. I use it to overcome the shadow caused by the presence of the FA DC58B adapter that blocks part of the light out of the in-camera flash; the 270EX is very good as a attached equipment to your small size powershot particularly when you expect the performance is around that of a 2 AA batteries (control on the 270ex is limited to OFF/ON button), and that many flashes would be too bulky (when mounted) thus defeating the purpose of having a G series. Along with the RD2000C this flash would be well-recommended although I noticed that shooting in interiors does not necessarily yield (all the time) bright results any better than if the in-camera flash were used. I still like this beauty to be on my G12 anytime... considering the pricey tag; thus, I am be somewhat reluctant to give it a full 4 stars.

This is one of the best flashes i have ever owned.. Canon did a really great job. The flash is super light weight. The pouch is great, it has the inner fleece in side to prevent scratches to the body. The battery life is great I use 2 rechargeble Energizers. The range of the flash for me is perfect as I shoot super close range of people. The swivel action on the head is exactly what I needed.

Great little flash. Have used it often with no issues. I use on it on a Canon Rebel xsi. I was having a recharge delay when using the flash on the Rebel during low light. This fixed my problem.

I guess the best way to put it is, ya gotta put this flash into it's perspective. It's tiny and fits into your pocket! The flash does exactly what it's intended to do and they're great for supplemental light and in some cases main!
