I've been looking to get a do-it-all camera that could fill my camera + camcorder needs. This bad boy takes incredible HD video! But after recording onto a 64GB 45mb/s Class 10 Sandisk SD card, the HD video had automatically stopped after 15 minutes of continuous recording twice, so please take note of this if you're interested in recording non-stop video for a long period of time with this device. Might I note that after recording in full HD for 30 minutes, the battery was still full? This unit has an amazing battery life to it! The movies record into .MOV format for easy editing and playback as well.
The picture quality is fantastic! The fact that this takes pictures in RAW format makes this camera even more phenomenal! But as you may already know from researching this camera, the zoom on this is amazing. Even without a tripod, I'm able to take a shot of someones face at 50x zoom. When I go to use autofocus on this camera for a shot, it does take a couple times holding in the shutter halfway before it focuses right. However, if you're more about manually focusing, you'll have no problem with this!
If your budget is $400 on a camera, this is ideal, especially if you're not picky with size. Having the ability to have a vari-angle LCD screen is VERY useful for those high and low shots that you're never normally able to review until you've already taken the shot.
Excellent camera by Canon with great zoom(50x), optical stabilization, high sensitivity and as a result perfect pictures. I was looking to find a camera(without removable photographic objective) with the above three features and I think I found the best choice to me. I don't have much practice with it yet, but by now it is the best to me. I know there are two main disadvantages with it - lack of auto panorama mode(typical for Canon) and lack of 3D pictures. Well for the first one I plan to use supplied software or one of many available panorama creation programs. And this works to me ok. The second disadvantage is not big deal to me - lack of 3D pictures - I don't like done pictures and they look too bad to me, so I'm not interested in this. But if you need this, maybe you need another camera.
Camera companies love ‘world’s best’ labels, no matter whether they truly are ‘world’s best’ or merely biggest, smallest, longest, widest, quickest, smartest … or whackiest!
However, it’s hard to ignore Canon and its description of the PowerShot SX50 HS as possessing the ‘world’s largest optical zoom range in a compact camera.’ Simply because, at time of writing, it is!
Think of it this way: if you owned a 35mm SLR film camera, wouldn’t you simply love to clip on a zoom lens that ranged from an enjoyably wide 24mm to a fearfully long 1200mm? I know I would!
But, get real, and theorise about the physical practicality of such a 35mm film lens! It would weigh a ton, stick far out from the camera and probably constitute a wind hazard! And forget handholding it.

This is top of the line.Great product,Great service.Great people to do bussiness with.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++++++++++
This camera does it all without extra lenses and stuff to carry around. The 50x zoom is amazing. Perfect camera for those who still basically want a point and shoot, but better quality pictures. Video also great, and I love the 'stitch' feature for panoramic scenes. A little on the heavy an bulky side compared to my old point and shoot, but
you can't have it all. Great value too, I got a bundle that included extra battery 32 memory card, Canon case and flash drive.
