Excellent form-factor, superb performance, worthwhile improvements.

I bought this camera to replace the SX230HS I had and to supplement my S100 and 7D when I want a compact camera with a long zoom, excellent image quality, and great low-light performance. This camera has all of those and more. I love the very compact size, but I also love the 'chunkiness' of it and the fact that it's easy to grip and feels very substantial. The added finger grip actually makes a big difference. I also like the fact that Canon listened and made the flash defeatable; in other words, you decide when it pops up, not the camera as was the case on the SX230HS. The only negative is fairly strong CA in harsh or demanding lighting, but there is software that fixes that, so it doesn't have to be a huge issue. The image quality is beautiful and the high-speed burst at full resolution is also nice. Low-light performance is surprisingly good and makes this a camera that you can really use in low-light situations. I comfortably use it at ISO 1600, and 3200 is passable, not something I would have said about a PowerShot just a few years ago. The improved focal range is fantastic and being able to shoot wide at 25mm or long at 500mm is nothing short of remarkable. The fact that it all fits in my pocket is even more amazing! I really love this camera, and that love grows the more I use it. It's definitely a worthwhile investment and an incredibly versatile camera that you'll find yourself picking up a lot.

Awesome Camera! Great for the size and super 20x Zoom :-)

Canon SX260 is a great compact camera with super 20x zoom and lots of other cool features. I like the color swab and color accent mode the most in which you can pick one color and leave the rest black and white. It has great image stabalization. The only thing that I don't like about this camera is the location of the flash as it is right where you put your finger to take pic but you will get used to it. Another thing is that the pics appears a little soft and are not as sharp as I want them but the pictures are still good maybe I just want a little more sharper images. The weight and size is awesome for a 20x zoom camera. Overall, I love this camera and would highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a small super zoom compact camera!

Excellent picture quality,Very versatile lens, Decent flash, large screen, lots of options, lots of useful features,manual modes,, EXCELLENT video quality, fast response great performance. great zoom capability , great image stabilization when using the zoom or indoors with flash.

for me the only cons are that it doesn't shoot Raw picture format and the flash is were in put mi left index finger when i hold the camera.

color is not red; deep/dark pink is closer to the actual color of this camera, but it's not bad. lots of features for amateur photographers who want a little more than point and shoot but don't want to lug around a larger camera. Camera has a good weight and solid feel; photo quality is excellent. Flash pops up in an awkward spot right where you put your finger to hold the camera, but once you get used to placing your finger elsewhere it's not a problem. Overall, a great little camera that I liked so well while traveling Europe, I purchased a second one for my partner.

Saw camera being used by someone at a show and zoom was incredible so bought camera. Not disappointed. Love point and shoot cameras as always have one in handbag. Use auto mainly but discreet option great. Movie option easy to access. Photos can be bit blurry if not steady when on zoom. Flash pops up under your finger but getting used to keeping it out of the way now. Still reading and following manual so will read up on that. Had Olympus camera prior this but very happy with this camera Price was great too with good SD card and extra battery
