Some great improvements, some improvements still needed.

I would have given this camera the full 5 stars if it weren't for a few things that bothered me. 1) Why switch the way the batteries load? 2) Why switch the delete button on the back? 3) Why are there purple/pink balls around bright lights, especially the sun (that wasn't an issue with the SX130 I had)? 4) Why is there a purple-tinted area in a lot of my photos when taking sunset shots? This line also still needs improvement on low-light photography - refuses to focus and very grainy.
As for improvements, the macro works far better than the 130, much sharper images. And the added features such as Super Vivid, Fish Eye, Toy Camera Effect, etc...are cool effects to play with!
Overall, I gave this a 4/5.

I bought this camera to take with me for a planned trip to Southern Africa in 2012. I did not want to take a chance and leave my Canon T2i in a strange place by accident. This Canon Power Shot SX150 IS seemed to fit the bill. I was looking for a camera to take both stills and video that uses AA batteries as I know I can purchase them anywhere in the world. I bought a Canon because I trust the name and quality. I have had excellent results thus far experimenting various conditions I will face. I've lived in that part of the world before and I know where I will be living while there. It will range from modern city life to bush country and game reserves. The camera does take a little getting use to as there can be a slight pause between shots. Video takes a lot of battery so it would be good to have at least 8 charged batteries going with me. I am taking a battery charger and a converter. The record button for video is not placed very well on the camera but knowing that and accepting it for what I want to do does not create problems for me. The color is Canon quality and the 12x zoom will be adequate because patience in the reserves is rewarded by getting very close to the wildlife. I purchased 2 16GB cards, Hopefully I can remember one is for stills and the other for video. One thing I have learned when purchasing a new camera for a specific reason i.e. Africa game reserves, one needs to take a lot of shots before going to learn the characteristics of the camera.

It's again a Canon quality. I love this high-end camera. Excellent pictures. Easy to use, my old camera was a Canon too. Image stabilizer works well, high definition video is a plus. Plenty of zooming. What else should I expect from a compact camera. Good choice, I am very happy with the product.

This is one of the best cameras that I have owned! I owned a Powershot that I bought in 2004 for $400 and this camera has alot more features and better picture quality for half the price. I know that technology has advanced. Great size! Easy to use and great HD movies. Can not beat it for the price and quality; compared to the Rebels or a much more expsenive camera. Nice job Canon, as always!
