The Canon PowerShot Elph 100 HS is a very good value, offering good photo and video quality outside and indoors, lots of fun shooting modes, and decent shooting performance for its class.
The 100 HS' photos look soft, even at lower ISOs, and its autofocus is regularly inaccurate.
If you're after an inexpensive ultracompact with good low-light photos, the Canon PowerShot Elph 100 HS is one to get. But you'd better act fast.

I am not a photo expert but in my opinion this camera takes very good pictures. The feature I like the best is its low light quality. I am not talking dim light but when you are inside at night and don't want to use a flash because a flash is too bright. Before my no flash indoor shots would always be blurry because I couldn't hold the camera still enough during its longer exposure. This camera has constant image stabilization. During longer no flash exposures the camera will take out any shakes in your hands. The result is an in focus and clear indoor no flash shot. The HDMI port to play HD movies and show pictures on T.V. is nice as well. This is definitely a good consumer grade camera. It has a lot of gimmicky features such as fish eye, toy camera, poster, etc but it also has some useful ones such as exposure level, ISO setting, etc. It is also very fast from pressing the power button to ready to take a shot. I would say about 1 second. There is also a slider on the top that puts all settings to auto. If you are in a hurry and don't want to change your programmed settings just slide the button to "auto" and the camera will take over everything and do a fairly good job. For the current price of $100 I don't think you will be disappointed with this camera. It is very light and small. It can't compete with the huge, expensive professional cameras but it is a noticeable improvement over iPhone photos.
I my opinion its size, weight, picture quality and features make this camera a good buy.
Needed an new small point and shoot camera, and for the price I decided to try this camera. Picture quality is good, not excellent. Video quality is quiet good. The one thing I don't like is the fixed focal length at the beginning of a video. If your subject gets closer to you or much farther away (if not shooting a long shoot) the subject will be out of focus. The size is great. Over all a nice little camera.
I heard this camera is pretty nice... cool look with high definition 1080p video quality. It has lots of other features too and is available on variety of colours. If anyone is interested in buying good camera at reasonable rate then I would recommend this as the best choice. I found out in a website mentioning this camera as best among all the canon cameras available on the market in point shoot category. They had considered the reasonability of price with the features available in the camera as reference to compare canon cameras.
Solid Canon quality. I have an older Canon Digital Elph camera that I used for many years and it is still working well; however, I felt it was time to upgrade to the new camera to take advantage of all the updated capabilities. What hasn't changed is the quality craftmanship, easy and intuitive menu system, pocketability, and great picture quality. Some of the cool new features include the high speed burst mode for still pictures, the ultra slo-mo movie mode, and of course, the full 1080p HD video recording. Upgrades include the improved image chip/processor, 12 mp resolution (vs 3 mp on my old one), larger LCD. The only reason I didn't give it a "5" on features is that Canon followed all the other manufacturers and now the Digital Elph series does not include an optical viewfinder, which is nice when trying to frame a shot when bright sunlight makes it hard to see the LCD. I am told that the improved LCDs make this not necessary, so I'll wait and see.
Please understand that I am rating this after shooting weddings with a large Canon SLR and comparing the two cameras together (I will admit it is a little unfair but read on).
While the photo quality is a little fuzzy on enlargements (11X14 and up) for basic shooting, carrying it with you to dinner, etc. it is a great camera. Very nice zoom, quiet, nice viewing screen on back. I would suggest a larger memory card (and shoot on the largest file size you can) but more important get a few more batteries as it does eat them somewhat quickly. Try to have one charging, one in the camera and one in your pocket ready to change up.
The options are identical to my high end camera without the weight issues. Menus are easy to read and can be figured out rather quickly right out of the box. By the way this was purchased for my wife to use while on a cruise. She loved it and found that now she has to think ahead to decide on the camera to carry but she is never without one when she needs it.
