Product Information
This sleek and stylish PowerShot ELPH 100 HS digital camera is what you need to add that creative edge. It's packed with powerful technologies that make this memory-making tool a great value. The camera possesses a 12.1-megapixel high sensitivity CMOS sensor, a 4X optical zoom, a wide angle 28mm equivalent lens and a 3.0-inch LCD screen for easy viewing and scrolling through menus.

Product Features
  • Shooting in low-light and high noise situations
The HS SYSTEM is a technology used to enhance image quality in low-light situations without the need for a flash. Making up the HS SYSTEM in this model is Canon's DIGIC 4 Image Processor combined with a high-sensitivity CMOS sensor, which helps to reduce noise at high ISO levels and expand the camera's dynamic range.
  • Full 1080p HD video
The Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS features full 1080p HD video with dynamic image stabilizer, providing secure, stellar resolution in a compact frame.
  • Shooting speed
Get high-speed shooting in a point-and-shoot camera: High-speed Burst Mode captures 8.2fps and Super Slow Motion Movie records video at high speeds to allow slow motion playback.
  • Shooting modes
Various scene modes, toy camera effect and monochrome, add an artistic look to your photos. Toy camera effect adds a grainy, blurred look to soften photos, illustrating an old-school, 1960's appearance and monochrome mode can make a photo either have black-and-white, blue or sepia tones, displaying a more classic, antiqued appearance.
  • Movie digest mode
The movie digest mode allows shooting a short video before capturing a still image and then combine a full day's worth of videos into one clip, making it easier to relive those special moments again and again.
  • 32 smart AUTO scenes
Helping to make the photographic journey that much easier, the PowerShot ELPH 100 HS has advanced smart AUTO with 32 different shooting scenes. Smart AUTO is helpful since the camera will automatically select settings that match the scene without the need to switch modes, making it possible to take beautiful photos in a variety of situations.
  • Digital zoom
4x optical zoom with a wide-angle lens (28-112 mm) optical image stabilizer and a 3.0-inch PureColor system LCD.

Reviews & Research

CNET Editors' reviewVery Good

  • THE GOOD

The Canon PowerShot Elph 100 HS is a very good value, offering good photo and video quality outside and indoors, lots of fun shooting modes, and decent shooting performance for its class.

  • THE BAD

The 100 HS' photos look soft, even at lower ISOs, and its autofocus is regularly inaccurate.

  • THE BOTTOM LINE

If you're after an inexpensive ultracompact with good low-light photos, the Canon PowerShot Elph 100 HS is one to get. But you'd better act fast.

Great camera for everyday needs!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Bought this camera for my son for Christmas. I have one just like it only mine is bright pink and his is bright blue. We're not big picture-takers, but it is great for ease of use & quality of photos. Good value for the money as we don't need something too "high-end."

Nice decent point and shoot for low light, but dont get too high on the ISO

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is a basic point and shoot camera, with the usual canon scene detection e.g. face detect, sports, fireworks, etc. Bought a used one as a spare backup camera for travels, small, light cheap (a used one goes for around $40-50) Has a nice 3" screen that auto-rotates during playback according to viewing angles. Has true HD 1080p too.

The reason why i chose this model among a sea of point and shoots was because of the HS name. This camera shoots nicely in low light capable of high ISO. But don't let the ISO go too high though, as it tends to 'wash' out the pixels, creating a 'watercolor effect'. The highest i go is ISO1600 and its sufficient enough for interior shots architecture, incandescent light in restaurants, street scenes.

Overall its a good camera to have around in any situation, decent low light photos, macros and shooting HD videos more.

Its size, weight, picture quality and features make this camera a good buy

Review For: Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS / IXUS 115 HS 12.1 MP Digital Camera - Gray

I am not a photo expert but in my opinion this camera takes very good pictures. The feature I like the best is its low light quality. I am not talking dim light but when you are inside at night and don't want to use a flash because a flash is too bright. Before my no flash indoor shots would always be blurry because I couldn't hold the camera still enough during its longer exposure. This camera has constant image stabilization. During longer no flash exposures the camera will take out any shakes in your hands. The result is an in focus and clear indoor no flash shot. The HDMI port to play HD movies and show pictures on T.V. is nice as well. This is definitely a good consumer grade camera. It has a lot of gimmicky features such as fish eye, toy camera, poster, etc but it also has some useful ones such as exposure level, ISO setting, etc. It is also very fast from pressing the power button to ready to take a shot. I would say about 1 second. There is also a slider on the top that puts all settings to auto. If you are in a hurry and don't want to change your programmed settings just slide the button to "auto" and the camera will take over everything and do a fairly good job. For the current price of $100 I don't think you will be disappointed with this camera. It is very light and small. It can't compete with the huge, expensive professional cameras but it is a noticeable improvement over iPhone photos.

I my opinion its size, weight, picture quality and features make this camera a good buy.

Good Camera. Not perfect.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Needed an new small point and shoot camera, and for the price I decided to try this camera. Picture quality is good, not excellent. Video quality is quiet good. The one thing I don't like is the fixed focal length at the beginning of a video. If your subject gets closer to you or much farther away (if not shooting a long shoot) the subject will be out of focus. The size is great. Over all a nice little camera.

Good one

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I heard this camera is pretty nice... cool look with high definition 1080p video quality. It has lots of other features too and is available on variety of colours. If anyone is interested in buying good camera at reasonable rate then I would recommend this as the best choice. I found out in a website mentioning this camera as best among all the canon cameras available on the market in point shoot category. They had considered the reasonability of price with the features available in the camera as reference to compare canon cameras.
