review for the camera in general NOT the seller or sellers item.
i once had this same SD600 before and i bought another for the same price i once got it for. for around $20 this camera is pretty flat out amazing with photos even indoors with low lighting its not overly grainy on the exposure. colors come out vibrant and accurate as well. only flaw is the used one i got glitches some times. the screen overall isn't the best and scratches pretty easily and shows finger prints and isn't high res (photos look 10x better on a high res pc screen) battery life isn't phenomenal but with a few or a spare its enough to take the shots needed, assuming you use flash. outdoor shots are very clear, hardly yo no grain or static distortion and colors are very clear and life like. zoom capability is only 3x focused +digital zoom (which admit no one uses and is horrible)
the video feature is nice, 640x480 at a 16:9 ratio looks almost HD 720P for clarity and at a full 30FPS looks smooth duuring playback. the high speed fast motion video mode is VERY fun cool and useful for doing stuff in fast/slow motion at a full 60FPS you can take some cool videos and slow them down to past 1/3 realtime with around 20fps playback and make some neat slow motion videos.
flash isn't the best either but will be pretty effective up to maybe 8-10FT or so. the AF assistance beam built in REALLY helps get the lens 100% focused before each shot as well, especially helpful during close up macro shots where flash will not be used. though a nice feature is photo flash IS able to still be used while taking macro photos. a feature some other cameras i have owned, did not have.
side downfall the remote lens operation via USB connection doesn't seem to work. all well, no stars lost still. also, the battery is external charge ONLY. kinda a shame but again no big deal personally, as batteries for this camera are easily available and very cheap. 5* camera for a bit higher end basic point and shoot. and for the price, you can't beat it. i also personally love its weight and feel, the high quality feel of the aluminum body and its weight gives it just the perfect standoff when holding single or dual handedly.
I was absolutely thrilled to find this model still available...after having had a few years experience with earlier acquisitions of it...but with this new Elph having a mB more pixel capability than my earlier Elph's...calling it a "thrill" doesn't begin to describe my joy of possibly getting my hands on a piece of technology that didn't require a whole new learning curve to be able to use something that I already was very familiar with. The next challenge would be if this Elph would have the performance life of my earlier Elph's...would this seller live up to his(her?) reputation for providing the Canon quality I've become accustomed to...?
Two months later...so far, I'm still thrilled...!
This camera works great, take fairly nice picture for the size. 6.0 mega pixel might sound a bit old age already, but I don't find it smart to have more than 10 mega pixel on such a small consumers' digital camera. Cause such a high resolution for small sized CCD will surely brings low sensitivity, and the pictures as a result would not look that good. As I often use my digital cameras indoors, I am concerned about sensitivity, and this camera works great! I love this one very much.
I have had this camera for several years. Great little camera. Titanium case. Very basic point and shoot with some manual control. One of my kids broke the LCD. I got a used camera for parts on E-Bay and fixed it. As good as new. A nice basic camera. Keep it dry and out of the sand!!
The camera has some working flaws. The cover does not open correctly so part of the black cover is in the lower corner of the image. Also, after each photo the message to replace the battery pack appears. The camera must be turned off and turned on again. Not happy with this product.
