Ultracompact design; long battery life; excellent burst capabilities; low shutter lag; versatile movie mode.
The SD400 has few manual controls or scene modes; image quality far from stellar.
The SD400's improved image quality makes this high-performance ultracompact one of the better choices in the current Canon Digital Elph lineup.

best sony cam on the market. all metal housing, very durable, very rugged, grety high res pics, great to close up macro shots and night shots. i've taken this many places, it has been dropped numerous times, worked everytime. easy to put i the pocket, quick access to snatch out and grab some pics on the fly. i sat on it and broke the screen, went to ebay bought a used camera for parts...found some instructions online and swapped out the screen.. it was easy to do and now i have a whole camera as back up for any parts. it also came w/a spare battery, charger and card. it was a great deal. i wasn't too impressed with the newer versions of sd sony cams...i like the all metal housing and small boxy feature of the sd400. the menu navs are easy to use and there is no lag between taking a pic and veiwing them. if anyone is into the outdoors or is really rough on electronics and wants a high mpix, high quality cam, this is def the one for you. you can find great condition used cameras on ebay and i even saw some new ones...great cam and, i will never own any other camera but this one.
Very pleased with this camera. It has a viewfinder as well as a view screen. Photos are excellent. You can use 2 AA cells or rechargeable Lithium Ion cells. They do not come with the camera. The flash memory card also is extra. It has a 16 Megapixil capability with an optical zoom 5X. Easilly fits in a pocket.
Canon Power Shot SD400 is a great digital camera. It`s a older model, but It has most of the features that you need. The price is good,it feels solid. Made in Japan,I think this is a rugged little camera, but like other digital cameras be careful of the LCD. It will break if misshandled. Like a toyota,it holds it`s value and keeps going.
This is a great little camera to have, it's small enough to fit in your pocket and easy to operate. This takes great pictures and capture great audio and video when recording.
Battery life is long, and no software is needed to connect this to a computer which makes things easier.
This gets used every day on the job. Very reliable, even at high altitude and very low temperatures. This is our 2nd from the Powershot line and we love it. Takes great pictures. Easy to use.
