Expanded Product Features
  • Classic IXUS design
The IXUS 105 combines pure IXUS style with fun, effortless operation.
  • 12.1 Megapixels
A resolution of 12.1 MP lets you make poster-size prints, or creatively crop images to perfection.
  • 28mm wide-angle 4.0x zoom lens
A wide 28mm lens is perfect for capturing landscapes or group shots, while a 4.0x optical zoom lets you get closer to your subject. Canon's optical Image Stabilizer delivers blur-free results throughout the zoom range.
  • 6.8 cm (2.7") PureColor II LCD
For detailed image review, easy framing and effortless menu navigation, the IXUS 105 features a 6.8 cm (2.7") PureColor II LCD. A wide viewing angle makes it easy to share images with friends as well as frame shots in bright sunlight.
  • Effortless shooting
Smart Auto mode uses Scene Detection Technology to determine the shooting scene from subject brightness, contrast, distance and overall hue. The camera then selects the appropriate scene from a possible 18, and applies optimum settings - leaving the user free to simply point and shoot. Smart Flash Exposure controls flash power and usage, helping to avoid problems like dark backgrounds and face shadows, and producing natural results in a variety of conditions
  • Face Detection technology
Face Detection technology detects up to 35 faces in a scene and adjusts focus, exposure, flash settings and white balance - for optimal results with natural-looking skin tones. FaceSelf-Timer makes group photos easy, taking a shot after an extra face enters the frame. Auto Red-Eye Correction eliminates red-eye during shooting or playback.
  • Motion Detection technology
Motion Detection Technology detects movement in the shooting scene and camera shake. The optimal ISO level is then automatically set, to minimize blur and maximize image quality.
  • i-Contrast
i-Contrast offers improved contrast and greater detail in tricky lighting conditions.
  • DIGIC 4
The DIGIC 4 processor delivers richly detailed, clean images, even when shooting at high ISO speeds. DIGIC 4 also drives fast and responsive camera operation.
  • Shooting modes
15 shooting modes are available, including Low Light, for great shots in darker conditions.

Canon experience has been awesome compared to Olympus.

Created: 02/13/11
I purchased Olympus for years, and had a lot of problems, before my Apple Tech told me how Mac friendly Canon is.
Features I like is the: larger LED over the SD1100IS that I have used since '07. My previous Canon has served me well and that is the reason I stick with Canon and it is very MAC friendly. Easy to download and great photos quality. I live in Branson and attend a lot of shows. The photos are not good in a dark theater from a distance.
The downside is, I thought the battery and charger would be interchangeable with the SD1100. Not true. Canono changed the battery just enough where they are not compatible so I ended up buying another charger and spare battery which will come in handy.
Also, I went for 8.0 Megapixels to 12.1 and that makes a difference.
I will know more when I find a manual and learn how to use it.
Happy shooting!

I like this little camera - it is easy to use and takes great pictures. Biggest disappointment - no veiwfinder. I find this very challenging when taking outdoor shots. I knew thatgoing in but Canon does not make an elph with a viewfinder any longer. Other issue - LCD screen not the best I've ever seen but is about what you would expect for this price. Still think this is a good value for the money.

This SD1300 was a replacement for a SD1200 I destroyed on a raft trip throught the Grand Canyon this year. The SD1200 was so great over the years that I got SD1300 as its replacement. I also had a Olympus TG 310 with me I was going to use most of the time. The Olympus drained both batteries I had with me after 80 pictures. The Canon on the other hand was still going strong on the second battery after 530 pictures. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars for the features section is that I would have liked a more powerful optical zoom. The price for this camera makes it a great deal for a barely used camera.

very clear photo ', the video you could record more then 15 minuets in one shot
you could zoom the the video well it is recording
I like it alot' thank you ebay
I purchased this camera as a replacement to my old Canon . The main reason I chose to replace it was for the IS feature. When I purchased to my old it was on sale and the IS features on cameras were an expensive option on upgraded models. I have to say the feature performs as expected. Obviously it's not going to do much if there is a lot of camera shake, but it does the job for what it's intended to do. Picture quality is excellent. Low light does well despite the reviews I've heard. Manual settings do just as well as auto settings. I like the playback button that lets you review pics rather than having to switch the camera into another mode. When taking multiple shots the lag time between pics is minimal. Videos work well with it but there is that pesky no in and out zoom during a video. Sound quality was surprisingly good with video mode as well. It takes outdoor video well with little wind noise. I was a bit cautious about buying a camera with no viewfinder as my last camera had one, but let's face it, I hardly used it when I had it. Insisting on a camera with a viewfinder also significantly limited my choices for point and shoots. I'm satisfied with no viewfinder and this camera is exactly what I expect in a good point and shoot. I considered the SD1200IS since it was on sale and a little less expensive but I figured for a few extra features, it's worth the extra $50. Battery life is great! Even under moderate to heavy use it lasted all night and part of the next day. I'd suggest always having another battery pack as a backup though as you never know when you might need it. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a quality point and shoot. For the price I don't think you can ask for much more in a compact digital camera.

Great camera

Created: 02/14/11
I read a lot of reviews about point and shoot cameras that cost under $150.00 And all of the reviews I read were right on. The Canon 1300 IS is a very reliable easy to use point and shoot camera that has basic functions and produces high quality pictures. I saw this camera new for $129.00. I didnt want to spend too much cash for the occasional picture taking so I kept it simple, and I am glad I purchased this camera. I did read in one review the shutter lapse time is a little slow, so you may miss some action shots. I tried this out and found this comment to be accurate. I think it is rated at a half second lapse time. However, its like anything, it's how much you want to spend. I could have spent a hundred more and not have had this feature. Overall, I would purchase this camera again, and I recommend it to people who want an excellent camera for little money.
