Reviews & Research

CNET Editors' reviewVery Good

    Responsive performance; slightly above-average lens.

Images plagued with artifacts and fringing; extremely noisy at high ISO settings.

This camera's solid performance can help you forget that it doesn't have many bells or whistles.

a great camera, no doubt

high quality, no doubt. and not very expensive.
the pictures come out clear and sharp, and has a higher exposure than most cameras in this price range. low light will still get you a good picture.

movie recording is great too. the middle quality is great quality. very colorful and sharp.

uses SD or SDHC cards, for good compatibility.

now for the bad part: batteries; yes. it consumes AA batteries quite easy, and many rechargeables don't seem to work, probably due to the high power requirements. better to use normal alkalines, new. or the best type of rechargeables.

still, the amount of options and quality makes it worth it to get. i got mine after i had tried one before, and was sure of it's quality. once you resolve the power problem, you will enjoy having it.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I LOVE this camera, my dad bought it for me about 7 years ago. I recently got a new digital camera but I didn't like the touch screen and no view finder. I see from reading other reviews the major complaint about this camera are the batteries. If you purchase the energizer advanced lithium batteries, they last a lot longer than the regular AA's. The advantage is you just pop in two new batteries instead of having to charge a battery or carry a spare that you may have forgotten to charge. I wouldn't give this camera up for anything else. I recently took pics at my daughters wedding that were just as clear and good as the photographer she hired. LOVE LOVE LOVE this camera. California mom & grandma.

A great, easy to use, and durable camera.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I have bought three of these cameras to use in rather hostile environments at work on construction projects, as well as hiking and fishing in pretty rugged places. They are easy to use, take great pictures, have good economy with AA batteries, and the images are quick and easy to upload to my PC or laptop. I feel like they may be the best camera for the money in the used digital camera marketplace.

Great Camera Deal

My older cannon camera of 7 years suddenly died.I went on line, found what I was looking for, paid with Pay Pal,received a well packaged perfect replacement in 3 days. The Cannon 560 is a solid feeling camera without being too large or heavy.I love the flexability and ease of changing of changing to the various modes.A great lens gives sharp pictures through all the different settings. It has not only a LCD screen that can be turned off to save battery life but a eyepiece to see through. The camera has a viewfinder window nonexistant in the later inexpensive Cannons. The lens is well protected with the automatic cover built into the camera. The curved end gives a stable and steady grip to eliminate blurry photo`s.

I really like this camera... especially the viewfinder

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

My sister has this camera, and I have wanted one like it for a few years. It's easy to use and takes great pictures. The thing I like most about it is the fact that it has a viewfinder. I looked for a new point-and-shoot camera recently and noticed that nowadays, most digital cameras don't have viewfinders! Sometimes it's hard to see the image on the flat screen in the bright sunlight. With this camera, when you zoom in on the shot, the image in the viewfinder zooms, too.

When she bought her camera new a few years ago, it was not expensive. It ran in the neighborhood of $125. I've looked for a new one for a while now, and they run anywhere from $290 to $499! I decided to try eBay. I bid on a used one and got it for $31 plus shipping. It has a dent or two, but it works great and I'm very happy with the purchase.

I haven't used my new camera a whole lot yet, but based on my use of my sister's camera, I'm gonna love it!
