"Compact, attractive design; mic input."
No optical image stabilization; ineffective wind filter; no headphone jack; modest video quality.
"Convenient, well-designed camcorders that look pricier than they are, models in the Canon FS series--FS11, FS10, and FS100--nevertheless deliver typical budget video in line with their budget price tags."

This is a GREAT little camcorder! The price is certainly right, and it delivers a lot for a small price tag! I'm nearly 60 years old and this is my very first camcorder, so it HAD to be lightweight and fairly easy to use. Got mine on eBay for a super price! It came without the manual, but I found the free download at Canon.com! I also recommend getting a 16GB memory card, though the 8GB that came with it gives me over 2 hours even in XP mode. I also got 2 genuine Canon bp-808 batteries which gives me over 6 hours of power between the two! I have not tried to upload any videos to my computer yet, but I'll come back when I do. I read reviews on Amazon to find out the quirks if any of this camera, that's how I knew to upgrade the memory card. The instructions are a bit tedious, but if I actually read AND follow them, the camera does what I need. It has a photo camera built in which takes good photos, but not great ones. Also there's a mini video light on the front which is good. I had to get used to where to point the camera to get a full picture in the frame. It's not a straight on shot, you have to film slightly off to the right of where it seems it should be pointed. Also haven't tried the fade-in, fade-out, black and white or sepia filming yet, but I'm delighted it's there. Overall, I'm having a blast filming my 35 year dollhouse miniatures collection! Can't wait to share the videos!!! I really love this little camera!
The cameria is pretty goo for the moneu I paid. The quality is good and the zoom is minor blurry but that noty bad either, over all I am satified with the camera
Great audio and video quality, easy to use and best of all excellent price. And because is Canon you can count it will last forever!
EASY TO USE! I USE IT TO FILM ROCK BANDS, NOT THE BEST BUT I LOVE IT! DON'T FORGET YOU NEED A CARD READER OR USB CABLE TO SEND TO PC. YOU ALSO NEED TO TRANSFER MOD FILE WHICH THE CAMERA RECORDS IN TO A MPG AVI FILE ETC. ALSO WHEN SENDING TO PC CAMERA MUST BE PLUGGED IN TO WALL NOT BATTERY. GET ONE WITHOUT ASSECCORIES JUST GO HERE OR TO AMAZON AND FIND WHAT YOU NEED!
I have a Mac and have had trouble finding a camcorder compatible with the OS X system. Was initially frustrated with this one too, but found a simple conversion program for $8 that puts videos shot with this little honey right into manageable status with my my iMovie! Woot!
