I bought the camera because I'm a pastor in process and I needed to submit a / some video of my worship services and sermons to the "higher-ups".
I bought this particular camera because I like the data storage format - in times previous, it was difficult to match up the video medium between what I had to record with and what the powers that be had with which to view the video.
The camera seems pretty straight forward and simple to operate as far as taking video and pics (the camera does both). You can quickly get to taking video and pics.
I ran into a bit of a problem when it came to playback - I wanted a particular section of what had been taped (the sermon, rather than the entire worship service) and I could not figure out how to fast forward. The instructions indicate that it can be done, but I couldn't make it work or get to where I needed to get with the camera in order to make it happen. This was while the camera was hooked up directly to a TV.
Some of my colleagues thought it would work with any one of the several computers we had present at the time. We had a couple different Apple MacBooks, and a PC tablet. We could get the camera hooked up to the / a computer, but the formats wouldn't jive - the camera came with 2 or 3 CDs - PC computer programs, in order to be able to show video on a computer. I run an Apple MacBook and I thought that the iMovie app would enable us to view video. Apparently not - I'm told that I need to download a "converter app" which will cost about $30.00 or so.
Overall, I like the camera and I'm sure any shortcomings I've listed above have more to do with my unfamiliarity with technology than with any shortcomings the camera may or may not have. I like the camera. I think it was a good purchase for the price - a highly valuable tool. When I'm done jumping through the hoops for the church, I'll be happy to use it with my model railroading! :-)
Very simple to use, bought as a family camera, have twins on the way, very light weight and recharges in no time. would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality inexpensive video camera
This is a great camcorder, easy to use and is a very good price, this is the item that I was looking for. work excellent and I carry out in to my pocket, is very, very good.
Excellent purchase! It is an excellent camera for the money...Technology changes to fast to invest in a higher end camera for me....This one is a good size too.
