Product description
Product Information
The Canon 50 mm f/1.8 FD standard lens creates images the way we see them with our eyes, and is used in normal compositions. Ideally suited for capturing close subjects, this 50 mm Canon lens works well for head and shoulder shots. With an aperture range of f/1.8-22, this standard lens lets you capture clear and detailed photos even in low-light conditions. The Canon 50 mm f/1.8 FD has a construction of 6 elements in 4 groups, which addresses image blurring, distortion and chromatic aberrations to deliver high-quality photos. This Canon lens accepts 52 mm filters of various types to reduce glare, improve saturation and block harmful UV rays.

Quality product that will survive the test of time.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This crisp clear Canon lens still performs its expected qualitive task as if it was just built yesterday. That being said it has excellent build quality- its bullet proof. Make sure that the lens does not "click" when focusing, it is not going to affect your picture quality in any way and it can be easily fixed yourself, its just something that can become a nuisance. It has a nice weight and doesn't make your camera feel too clunky. I picked mine up for about $25, excellent value for an FD lens.

An old nifty fifty that feels much more than its price.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Buying old FD lenses to adapt to EOS digital cameras isn't usually a smart move: it requires adapters that bring compromises and finicking around with the lens, but I was determined to try. This lens goes for an average of $20, and at that price it outperforms a lot of lenses on the market today. The focus rings are much smother than current autofocus lenses, the aperture is snappy and immediate, and it just *feels* right. The FD 50mm f/1.8 *was* mass produced, and as such you can see them everywhere, and at this price is a lens that everyone who understands the compromises of old glass on new cameras should have.

More cost-effective, high quality images. Cost savings.

This old lens work fine with my Panasonic GX1 with M4/3 Adapter. I can use aperture/focus ring to manual adjust with easy. Picture quality is good. Bokeh is beautiful. I love it

Terrific lens, fast aperture, but mostly for potrait photos

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I have EPL3 and was trying to justify a purchase of panny 20mm 1.7 or pl 25mm.
Since i am new to m43 or dslr world, i would like to see what a fast aperture would bring me and finally i decided to try out legacy lens cause they are so cheap for what it's worth.

This lens is cheaper than the 1.4 version altough not as sharp based on reviews. However amazingly, it is much better compared to the kit lens that i got 14-42mm 3.5-5.6 msc II.

Now it stays in my camera and i learnt a lot by using manual lens.

Will upgrade to 1.4 or maybe panny, but this lens is incredible for what its cost

Lens works as advertised

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

The lens works as it should. I use it on a 35mm adapter that connects this lens to a Canon Vixia. It gives me a shallower depth of focus and a filmic look when one shoots video in 24p.
