About the Manufacturer
The story of Callaway Golf begins with the company’s founder and namesake Ely Callaway, a passionate businessman and well known figure in the game of Golf. The company got its start when Mr. Callaway bought a small wedge and putter company called “Hickory Stick USA”, which later became “Callaway Hickory Stick USA” and eventually “Callaway Golf”. From the beginning the company was committed to producing quality product for golfers of all skill levels. Mr. Callaway called it “Demonstrably Superior and Pleasingly Different” (DPSD) golf clubs. Though the company has grown exponentially since it’s modest start in 1982 (when Mr.Callaway would deliver product himself from the back of his Cadillac) the commitment to innovation and quality remains. Now a publicly traded company, Callaway is one of the most visible names in golf with a product line that encompasses the full spectrum of equipment and accessories including drivers, irons, wedges, putters and balls. Callaway golf also owns Top-Flite Golf Company, Odyssey Putters, Ben Hogan and Strata Brands.

Better than the FT-iZ

Created: 04/05/11
The Razr Hawk Driver by Callaway looks sharp and feels great. It is easy to swing and lightweight. I never would have believed that it hits farther than the FT-iZ, but it does. After playing about 10 rounds of golf with it,I have gained consistently about 10+ yards, which is incredible. The new technoloy of forged composite is a definite winner.

WARNING: If you dont like hitting it long and stright, do not hit this club! I switched from my ft-tour with a fubuki 63, to the razr hawk with a fubuki 60, and the results are amazing! In all honesty, I played 36 holes today, and Ive never been so close to the greens. We're talking 30 yards longer on some holes and my mis hits with the razr, well, go just about the same distance as the good hits! I was driving the ball around 285 with the ft-tour, but Im easily hitting 300 with the razr! Im about a 3 handicap and play college golf, if that helps anyone!

Love this club! The technology that Callaway has developed and used in producing this driver is fantastic.
It has helped my driving distance increase at least 10 yards... and getting longer as I learn to dial down my tempo and just grove this club head into the hitting zone to make solid contact.
For the first time ever I am now playing some par 5s as 'definite' birdie holes, but more importantly I am spending less time in the rough...which is a huge scoring advantage if you have a decent short iron game.

I bought the Callaway Razr Hawk driver because I wanted to upgrade from my old Callaway VFT Hawkeye driver, which was the last of the 360CC drivers that Callaway made. While I liked my old VFT, I knew I was missing out on newer technology that was afforded with a newer club, including the 460CC size. From what I have seen so far, the club is much better than the old VFT. It is more forgiving, even when mis-hit. Also, when you hit the sweet spot, it will really take off. For me, 300 yard drives are becoming more of the norm, which is what I was hoping for. I am assuming that I'm picking up at least 20 to 25 yards of average distance from the old VFT. I waited until the newest Razr Fit came out because I knew the prices would go down on the Razr Hawk, which it did. I was able to pick up my brand new Razr Hawk for around $160, which I thought was a phenomenal price for a club that had been introduced only about a year prior.
