About the Manufacturer
The story of Callaway Golf begins with the company’s founder and namesake Ely Callaway, a passionate businessman and well known figure in the game of Golf. The company got its start when Mr. Callaway bought a small wedge and putter company called “Hickory Stick USA”, which later became “Callaway Hickory Stick USA” and eventually “Callaway Golf”. From the beginning the company was committed to producing quality product for golfers of all skill levels. Mr. Callaway called it “Demonstrably Superior and Pleasingly Different” (DPSD) golf clubs. Though the company has grown exponentially since it’s modest start in 1982 (when Mr.Callaway would deliver product himself from the back of his Cadillac) the commitment to innovation and quality remains. Now a publicly traded company, Callaway is one of the most visible names in golf with a product line that encompasses the full spectrum of equipment and accessories including drivers, irons, wedges, putters and balls. Callaway golf also owns Top-Flite Golf Company, Odyssey Putters, Ben Hogan and Strata Brands.

Callaway on EBay - A Hole-In-One

Name brand golf equipment often is very expensive. When you visit your pro-shop you are going to pay top-dollar, even for used equipment. Ebay is wonderful as you can find top quality products, new and used, at unbeatable prices.

I purchased the Great Big Bertha II used, on Ebay for two major reasons. Number one was that I like Callaway products. Number two, the price was unbeatable and the condition was very good for its age. This of course equals a great deal of value, which is probably why most people buy on eBay. I love buying on eBay!

GBBII Driver

I have recently gotten a Great Big Bertha Driver II from Edwin Watts Golf. I had been using a Wilson Staff Pd5. I like both drivers a lot. However, I really like the GBBII just a little more. The Pd5 hits a beautiful draw. However, the Callaway Great Big Bertha II hits it right down the middle and about 30 yards further. The sweet spot is a great big launching pad. Where ever you catch the ball on that sweet spot, that ball is going to fly. Who needs a 460cc driver when you can get (and control) a 415cc driver and do the same amount of damage. Get yourself one of these.

380cc of sweetness

Created: 06/28/06
I love my Big Bertha II driver. I've compared it side-by-side at the range with a Big Bertha TI 454, and Big Bertha Titanium. The Big Bertha II simply went straighter for me. The sound from the TI 454 and Titanium didn't have the customary ping noise I usually get from Big Bertha's, and man can I slice those two. They actually sounded more like a TaylorMade thwack, which I find distracting. I also noticed that the club face seems to be about the same size on all three drivers. I want the club face to be huge so I can hit five inches behind the tee and still end up with a decent shot. I want to be able to miss the sweet spot, and still end up in the fairway. The Great Big Bertha II has done this for me. Bottom line, I've hit this thing off the toe, off the heel, behind the ball, and about as poorly as possible and I've still ended up in or close to the fairway. I can slice this guy too, but I can slice a putt.

Callaway Great Big Bertha II Driver Golf Club what a nice clean used club, great club cover. Grips feel new grafite shaft flexs as you drive to send the ball flying. Super distance on the drive, the club is much cleaner than advertised or even expected.
