Great Big Bertha 10* Driver Firm-Flex Shaft
Created: 03/01/08
Although I no longer use a Callaway GBB driver, I had previously used one for roughly 10 straight years before upgrading to my current driver, the Callaway FT-i driver.
You can get a GBB for next to nothing now (I paid $500 for mine when I bought it new in 1996) and if you are looking for a cheap club, you just cannot beat the quality and forgiveness of a GBB. And with its titanium head, you'll love the "TINK!" sound it makes when you crack a nice drive. Although the GBB's arent as forgiving as the new 460cc drivers, this is still a fairly forgiving club. mis-hits can still come out ok. And when you hit a drive in the sweetspot, the ball is simply GONE!
What I also love about the GBB is that with its "Warbird" bottom, you can also use this as your LONG fairway wood. Ive used mine for those shots MANY times with GREAT success.
So if you are looking for a good quality driver but dont want to spend a lot, I dont think you could do much better than a Callaway GBB.

This headcover, from this buyer, was exactly as described - New condition.
It is all that a head cover can be. It covers the head and shaft of the club. It makes your golf bag look intimidating from a distance. I properly displays the number "1" on top so that in case the side markers confused you - you could figure out you were grabbing the driver.
That is of course, you put the right head cover on the right club, if not, you may not attempt to press liability for poor manufactur on the maker of this head cover.
It's sewn together in a manner that seems the seams are seamingly strong enough to stayed seamed together. It would seem that is a seamingly important thing. If not, you may not seem to get the wear duration from theses seams and that would seem to be the only long term issue at hand that I seemingly cannot answer on the seams. But they seem strong enough, the seams that is.
It is of appropriate color to denote this club gender specific to the male golfer, unless of course your a female that prefers to ignore gender typecasting and coloration. If you are that type of person, then you must also be of sufficient height with reach and swing speed that using the club denoted on this cover would be wise. Otherwise, you would be breaking all of the fasion sense that this headcover and the gender specific female version of this headcover - (a really nice champange/green combination) would supply. Personally I think the female gender version of this club and matching cover look rather cool, and being a smaller version would probably provide more impact potential than the larger version - but the maker took it's gender clues all the way up to the grip. What this means is that the shaft would be useless to a golfer like me, both in length and in strength of flex, bend points and torque load.
It would be like, who likes white corvettes vs little red corvettes. Same thing, just different colors. Society teaches us that men must use the bolder, more dominant colors while the women are cast to use the pliable and softer colors.
Well, if it's all the same to you, I couldn't get the darn "review" thing to dissappear from my Ebay page until I wrote a review. So here I sit, needing to get ready for work - with my only goal for the moment seemingly being to not see that annoying little "you've got one item to review" thing.
It's a head cover, for an old head....a really nice sock. Good day and happy hooking!

Straight Flyer! Callaway Great Big Bertha 9*
Created: 05/22/10
This is the first Callaway club I have owned. Got a great deal on it. I put a new Winn grip on it and also refinised the head. It looks like brand new now. I have been playing with a Taylor Made R-580 and have some troubles keeping it in play. Took this Great Big Bertha 9* to the range and couldn't believe my accuracy with it. I did loose some distance compared to the R-580 but i am not chasing the ball into the next fairway over either. It has made my game much more enjoyable. If you are starting out and want a good hitting club for bargain prices try one of these out. It is also a more traditional size club head. This thing is not leaving my bag.

Great Big Bertha 10 Degree Titanium Driver

I own most of Callaway's drivers from the past few years up to the ERC model year. I also own the TaylorMade R7 Quad TP. I prefer the GBB because of it's clean lines, lack of oversized head at 250cc (the R7 Quad TP has a 400cc head), yet solid feel when striking the ball. I can work the ball better than with the R7, especially if the R7 weights are set for 'draw'. The shaft I have in the GBB is a Grafalloy Prolite in Stiff flex. I do believe that an upgraded shaft should be installed in the GBB to get maximum playability as opposed to the standard Callaway shaft. Anyone looking for forgiveness, better than average distance and workability, all in an inexpensive club, should consider trying the Great Big Bertha.
