This is one of the very best reference books on the subject of Antique Buttons. The pictures of the buttons show that they are really works of art. Button collecting pays homage to the craftsmen of earlier times whose love of beauty, history and dedication to precise detail produced splendor beyond our modern capilities. The authors must be given credit for bringing attention to these magnificent treasures. This book, Buttons by Diana Epstein and Millicent Safro, is a fitting tribute to the workmanship of earlier times.
The book was written by two expert button collectors and as a new collector I needed a good basic understanding of the value of specific button types but also their value.
