I have been a big fan of this show since the beginning.
I was none to happy when I found out this was going to be the last season. Having said that, they made the last season the best...as well they should. ( I am slighty embarrassed to say that I actually took off work to watch the last episode!)
While the whole last season was good...the best two episodes in this set, for me were "Converstions With The Dead" and "Chosen"..the last episode.
I have been trying to buy all of the "Buffy" series and I am glad I made this my first purchase.
Many people do not care much for the final episodes of Buffy. I think with all of the hype that there was no way it could have been as people expected. With that said, I personally enjoyed the last season! How could you not enjoy the end to a great series?!?! For the most part, almost all of the episodes in season 7 were telling one larger story (even more so than the rest of the series) and it was like watching one very long episode that was split up into pieces! If you have followed seasons 1-6 you really have no choice but to see how it all ends! :-)
Like any good series finale, it leaves you wanting more, but for the most part you are satisfied with what is resolved with the characters and the storyline. I highly recommend watching the episodes of the last season without leaving too much time in between them. It will flow much easier and make more sense watching the episodes without much gap in between them!
The final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a mixed feeling season. While Buffy had some great moments, you notice a slight repeat of some things (Buffy dies a couple times over all the seasons and always came back) so you knew it was going to happen. My husband and me are still fans today of Buffy.
This season has its ups and downs like every season. I know I actually screamed when Xander got his eye jabbed out and I was yelling at my husband "HOW COULD THEY DO THAT TO XANDER?!?". Then the way they killed off Spike made me cry. So there are a couple tear jerker moments.
There is also lots of actions through the final season. The final battle is very action packed and great to watch.
Finally I was pleased with the specail features which include a blooper reel, Commentary, and more. This is a great DVD set to have for any fan of Buffy.
After 2 disappointing seasons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer finally rebounded for it's final season. I don't know if the writers came back from sabatical or they just got rid of some deadweight characters (Glory, Riley Finn), but the dread with a comic twist came back. Sarah Michelle Geller's downer monologs are FINALLY mocked (let's face it, she was barely any better than William Shatner in that respect) and the series took off at breakneck speed to it's surprising and satisfying conclusion.
Dork that I am I fell in love with this show, and specifically Sipke, after it had gone off the air. I ended up buying several seasons in stores across my home town but I couldn't find seven. I ordered it off e-bay and my collection is complete.
But that's besides the point. Seson seven is an interesting season. Really interesting for Spike fans, as he goes through a lot here. But Buffy doesn't seem to have her heart in it. As the young potentials begin to arrive in Sunnydale and Buffy starts giving rousing speeches at the end of every episode it becomes apparent that she doesn't want to be there anymore. The speeches usually seem forced and parctised and are often times shoved in at wierd moments. If they were all but gone, the season would be much better. But alas, in season seven Buffy transforms into some kind of motivational speaker.
Really that's my only beef with it though. Otherwise it's engaging and funny, just like all the other Buffy seasons. I would recommend it, but remember to bring something to read durring her long talks.
