Product Information
The latest creation from gaming icon Tim Schafer and the award-winning team at Double Fine, Brütal Legend is a 3rd person Action/Adventure game starring Jack Black in the role of roadie Eddie Riggs, who sets on an epic quest to build an army of rockers with only a broad axe, a big block V8 and his faithful guitar in hand. Eddie Riggs has been drawn back through time to a mythical world dripped in Rock and Roll folklore; where great Metal titans once ruled and power chords rang from the countryside for all to hear. When an oppressed people request Eddie’s knowledge of modern warfare, he pulls from his own experience in the only occupation he’s ever had, a roadie for a Heavy Metal band. From this springs the most hellacious army man has ever seen, and thus brings this ancient world into the Age of Metal.

Rocking metal fantasy action/ adventure game, game on!

    Created: 10/12/10
This is the best metal & rock themed video action/ adventure game I've ever played!

Awesome voice acting, great characters, hidden items, guitar solos, & chrome everywhere make this THE definitive metal & rock action/ adventure game!

The game is geared toward an adult audience-- so parents take note as there is cussing & violence sprinkled throughout the game... but it's not there for shock value in any way. It all adds to the most awesome metal & rock action/ adventure game ever!

    Brutal Game!

    Created: 01/01/10
I remember seeing this game in stores before I had an Xbox thinking, "Wow this game looks amazing!" I'm a bit of a metalhead and a musician, as well as an avid rpg fan, so I really wanted to play it. When I got my Xbox I downloaded the demo and loved the cinematic, graphics, humor, and gameplay....everything! After finishing the demo (twice) I soon bought the game. To my surprise it kept going strong throughout the entire game! The music was awesome, the story was awesome and the gameplay was...well Brutal! (Not to mention that there's nearly 80 miles of open world explorability!

There were only two things that really stole it's thunder; one being the fact that the game is more of a Real-Time Strategy than an Role Playing Game (all the main fighting is done within a pretty awesome RTS engine) but I didn't mind it after a while...I just expected an RPG, or maybe a Beat 'em Up.

The second minor detail was that the campaign was pretty short...the upside is the game has some awesome replay value. Either way I'd suggest this game to any and all Metalheads, Beat 'em Up fans, and RTS fans.

    Brutal Legend

The game has character. It's funny game with the best original detail that is the trademark of Tim Shafer. Buy it you will have one of the most unique and entertaining gaming experiences. Also, get Psychonauts on Xbox Live. It's made by the same developer and it' another game that is soaked in originality and humor.

Not quite what I was hoping for......

    Created: 03/03/10
Aside from the music, this game is not truly "Metal". I liked Jack Black as eddie and the Cameos with Ozzy, Lemmy and Halford ect. but the game was not what I hoped it would be. It wasnt dark, intense or serious enough to be "metal". But thats Tim Shafer for ya. I wasnt a big fan of psychonaughts either. The voice overs got real repetitive and the gameplay was just alright. I traded it in quickly after reaching the end. A true metal lover would see that this game just didnt do the genre justice. Its just too "cute" and "quirky". Its kind of like the band from the opening scene who starts off playing some good riffs but once they deviate from that it all falls apart. A Game like God of War, Darksiders or even Dantes Inferno are more "Metal" than Brutal Legend despite none of them having a long list of metal songs. Metal is about crushing all you hate under you boot and spiting in its face. Brutal legend is to Metal what The Munsters are to Horror.

    Awesome game. A MUST PLAY!!!

    Created: 03/04/11
Great game. Seems to have a lot of graphic glitches, i.e. AI's get stuck or you get stuck but only in areas like corners of 2 trees that you shouldn't be, but doesn't stop the game from being fun for a second. Decently long, verrry funny videos and scripts, and awesome sound track. One of the best adventure games I've ever played ESPECIALLY on the new systems. Only games that would beat it in my opinion are the greatest ones like Metal Gear solid and God of War. They're not necessarily the same genre but I would put Brutal Legend up there close to them. If can get for under $15, definately grab it a.s.a.p. Sells for $20 new and $17.99 used at game stores. Even at that price though it's a great game.
