Brother SE400 Computerized Sewing Machine

I really love this machine. It embroiders and sews who wouldn't want that. I love the sewing part. The machine sews like a dream. The machine also cuts your thread for you saving you a lot of time and it has many stitch functions many of which you will never use. I recommend watching a video on You Tube to get you started off the right foot or you could get a sewing class but they charge you, a lot. The embroidery part is good and easy to use but a 4x4 area just isn't enough most designs are 3 inches or smaller. If you want it for the embroidery part just get a bigger machine you'll be more satisfied with the variety on a bigger machine. I wanted to embroider some pillows for my couch and the designs were just to small. I like the embroidery it just isn't big enough. Make sure to shop around for a good deal. And be careful who you buy from on ebay especially if they don't have a return policy. Embroidery and Sewing machines sometimes need to be repaired so make sure it comes with a warranty.

Brother SE400

I love the Brother SE400. It really lives up to it's reviews. It's very user friendly. It was delivered yesterday and I am sewing with it today. I love the push button start/stop and the well-lit LCD screen with on screen help for anything I might want to know. It also came with an informative CD and plenty of instruction booklets.

It's quiet and handles all fabrics from sheer silks to heavy denim like a little workhorse. The number of available stitches and embroidery patterns means that I can tackle any project. And if there is a design not already on the machine the USB port allows me to connect to my computer and the world of design is at my finer tips. With the 400 you can also use preprogramed cards with embroidery designs.

This is just a well rounded machine, absolutely worth the money!

I bought it because Brother makes good machines. I am a beginner at Embroidery and felt like I didn't want to spend a lot of money but I also wanted to be able to get designs from the computer and this machine does that. I great machine to start on.

Brother SE400 sewing machine

I bought the 400, because we are going to have our first grandchild in a few months, and wanted a machine to embroider baby items. It is a very easy machine to use and handy because of the self threading,built in stitches, and easy setup.
For the price this is a GREAT machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great starter machine

I purchased this machine just for the embroidery function. This is a great starter machine for home embroidery. Now that I have been using it for a while I wish I had purchased one that had larger hoop options. I also wish I had known that I would have to purchase software if I wanted get any designs for the internet or from CDs. That is not a reflections on the machine just something I wish I had known as a first timer.
