Brother PE-770 Computerized Sewing Machine

I bot this machine to take with me on trips. I have 2 other machines that r brother embroidery machines so I wanted to stay with the same brand because of the format used for embroidering. My first one only does a small hoop design and my big one is more commercial and too heavy to travel with. This is right in the middle and will do a med design 5x7 most of what I do is that size so it's really handy for me to use this one...I like my big one because it has 6 needles where this one only has 1 and I have to change each color one by one... that's why I bot the big one for bigger projects. This one however also has a needle threader..there was some confusion about that when I purchased it...this machine didn't come with the threading mechanism but I was able to buy one for it...whether is was suppose to or not.. the ad was a bit misleading...I still think it was a great deal and a super buy... I'm very happy with it...and I would buy another one if this one wears out...or a more advanced model but the same brand of machine.

If your in the market for a fairly priced and well built Embroiry Machine than the Brother PE-770 is the one to buy. I bought this machine after having an other Brother embroidery machine that only did 4X4 area for 7 years, she still ran great but I wanted an up grade. And WOW I upgraded!!! I took 7 months compairing several brands of machines, prices and feaures. Even thought I have enough to buy a much more expensive brand than what I decided on buying, I choose this one because it was well made, the cost was resonnable and it was a well featured machine. This machine has a 5X7 work area and I love that I can use larger designs. The USB port is a great feature on this machine. I love that I can just put on the designs on a UBS stick and plug it into the machine and create. If you don't have a PED transfer box you can still use your files and CDs. There are so many Free ones out there as well!! The ease of use of this machine is WONDERFUL! The manual can get you through just about any question you have and the 800 number they give you is manned by people who know what they are doing. When I first received this machine I did have a little trouble getting the hoop to click on, but I called the help line and within seconds I was doing it without a problem. Over all, I would give this machine a A+ in cost, function, ease of use and quality. Its been a win win all the way for me with this PE-770. A little hint to help you out stick with the 90 weight bobbin thread as that works the best and is what the machine is set for. If you want a good machine go with the Brother PE-770. I am very glad I did!

I love it...I was alittle intimidated at first because I was so use to my PE180D. I had to get use to the arm being on the opposite side but at least now I can do larger designs. This machine sews beautifully. The instructions are a bit confusing at times, but I get info I needed. My first sewing machine machine was a Brother and this my third. I love how I can download my designs using a flashdrive and importing them to the machine using the usb port.

After wanting an embroidery machine for some time, I found this model for ~$650. After reading online reviews, I decided it would meet my needs (crafting, fabric postcards, personal embroidery projects & gifts). My favorite thing is being able to make beautiful designs easily with this machine. Friends love the hooded baby towels I've given them.
I am lucky to have a friend who gave me pointers and shortcuts. She couldn't believe I got such a nice machine for only $650 as she has similar machines that run over $2000. A video tutorial would be great - haven't found any online yet but haven't looked a lot.
I did have one problem early on. My project kept embroidering itself to the machine and getting stuck; there was a huge "bird's nest" of thread being made just above the bobbin case inside the machine under the needle plate. I believe it was due to a blocked thread sensor at the bobbin case because after I cleaned this area, the problem stopped. That was the only real issue I've had - the machine works very well and is a lot of fun - you just can't stop watching it go!
I would definitely recommend buying this machine. Am currently expanding my library of designs, threads and hoops so I can make more projects.

I love my new embroidery machine, I can still use my old cards, even enlarge them, I'm still learning how to use the flash drive, I'm a computer dummy but the results have been good. When I've had a question, either in the books that came with the machine or online they've been answered. Thank you so much for my machine. teacherramona
