Britax Marathon Zebra Convertible Car Seat

When our first daughter, now 26 months, was too big for our graco travel system, I searched hi and low to find a car seat that would be both functional and comfortable. Most of the car seats I saw looked very uncomfortable, they lacked any amount of padding and the material seemed coarse. Then I saw our first Britax at a Babies r us store. It was beaustiful, the cover is so soft to the touch. Not to mention the fabulous patterns. This car sear has a nice amount of squish and my daughter seems to love it. This seat is also very easy to use. If you have the latch system in your and know how to buckle a seat belt you can install it in minutes. The clips that attach to the metal brackets in the car are very similar to in operation to seat belt receivers. Where other brands have a small metal lobster claw clasp which is very hard to operate. Even with out the latch it is easy to thread the seatbelt through and attach it. Another great part of the function of this seat is the completely removable seat cover that is washable. And if for some reason it does get wrecked or you decide you need a fabric change you can purchase additional covers for arounf $50. This might seem like a lot for a cover but you are already paying over $200 for the seat so its nice to know that you can change the look with out buying a whole new seat.

We decided to purchase this car seat after reading many reviews and saftey standards. This is one of, if not the, safest car seat on the market today. It is more expensive than other seats, but can be used for a long period of time. This is the first and only car seat we've ever had for our 8 month old daughter. Even though she was tiny at first, she snuggled in comfortably in this seat. It has the recommended five-point harness and I feel secure knowing that she's safe if something happens. We can use this seat until she's 65 pounds, giving us 4-5 years of use, maybe more! If you have a small car with a cramped backseat like we do, however, be prepared to surrender at least half of the backseat to this seat. It is very large! It was a bit difficult to put in because of our small back seat, but should not be a problem in larger cars.
