Another great story from Eugenia Price

Created: 09/02/08
Bright Captivity is the first book in Eugenia Price's Georgia trilogy. I read the second book and was enthralled so much by the characters and story that I bought the first and third books as well. I have not been disappointed in any of these books, all very rich in the main characters, their relationships, triumphs and struggles.

The first book, Bright Captivity, starts out in the early 1800's on St. Simon's Island just off the coast of the state of Georgia. The writer does a wonderful job in recreating the time period and the island as was 200 years ago.

If you like a good, long and engrossing book, I recommend this highly. Read the whole trilogy if you can.

Eugenia Price manages to capture the south with all its traditions, familiy connections, and unique mannerism while keeping to the historically correct background. Anyone interested in leaning a bit of history along with a wonderful series of stories should buy any of her books. I strongly suggest beginning with Margaret's Story.
