Designed in the form of a stomp box, this Boss guitar effect pedal bestows upon the guitar player with four distinct acoustic guitar sounds. The overall brilliance and harmonics of the effect is controlled by the top knob present on the Boss AC-2 acoustic simulator guitar effect pedal. This Boss guitar effect pedal gives control over the amount of reverb present via a dedicated knob on the interface. ) This pedal will give you an acoustic like clean tone with several different settings of acoustic tone. I needed to get more of an acoustic sound for several songs we play so I purchased a used AC-2 pedal. The pedal does give a good acoustic sound but when the pedal is on it drastically cuts the volume of my signal. I put a boost pedal after the AC-2 to cure the volume issue in the signal but I still had a lot of problems EQing the pedal. I had to cut the body control down to 1 and the top to about six and then EQ the clean channel on my amp to finally get close to the sound I wanted. I have tried everything I can think of to get the acoustic tone I was hoping for but just can't do it with this pedal. I have decided to get an acoustic stage stand and just keep my electric strapped on and go from my acoustic to electric for the songs that need an acoustic switched to distorted tones. I was hoping the AC-2 pedal would fix this problem but it just did'nt work for me. I have a friend who has used this pedal in his live shows for years and he loves it but it did not work for me.

works well with a guitar not utilizing active pickups. otherwise a good investment. very useful changing sounds from acoustic to electric with a tap on the foot switch. bought this item for a different sound and to call on the acoustic sound starting a song.

i wanted a pedal that would give me accoustic sounds thru any electric guitar i played this is the pedal i love it would not have anything else

This was purchased for inclusion on a pretty extensive pedalboard.The differing types of instrument give enough variety and the top/body pots let you dial in just about anything you could think of.I have recently let my sister use it as a pre-amp for her Baby Taylor GS and with the Taylor pup/cord it is a perfect match...I may have lost it. This is a fine pedal and should work across any style if you need to add an 'accoustic' flavor but don't want to bring another guitar along
