Bose 201 Series IV Main / Stereo Speakers

Bose, the art of technology in sound. Who could ask for more? Well, if you have a normal living space, say living room or den with 300 sq.ft. of space these really deliver! You could probably go to 500 sq.ft. without a problem, as long as you have a center speaker (ours is an RCA) and some high end main speakers (ours are Bose 901's). What a sound!! Couldn't ask for more!! Get a great deal on these speakers on eBay! We did!!

I LIKED THE BOSE FOR THE RANGE OF QUALITY SOUND ANY WHERE IN THE ROOM.
AFTER TESTING EVERY KIND OF SPEAKER AND PLACEMENT THEORY I FOUND THE BOSE TO BE THE EASIEST PLACEMENT OF TWO SPEAKERS THAT EVER SOUNDED LIKE THE HUGE SPEAKERS THEY REPLACED.
I ALSO NOTICED THE SOUND CARRIED ACROSS A ROOM CLEANER ANY WHERE YOU WALKED LEAVING MY GUESTS AND THE ANXIETY IN THE ROOM TO BE REDUCED BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO TALK OVER THE STEREO TO REACH THE WHOLE ROOM.

Really great speakers, they are rated at over 100 watts and are 8Ohms they really sound great, I plan to use these as surround speakers for my home theater system, paired up with a sony STR DG1100 receiver, two sony FS5000 speakers in the front, one sony CS5000 in the center, sony SW2500 subwoofer, and two bose double cube speakers as my rear surrounds (they are perfect for just that spot).

I have these speakers in a stereo set up, and though they fall far short of the whole, "Best speakers ever," they do their job. I have them set up in the middle room of three rather large openly joined rooms, and they fill all three with music quite well. They could use a sub to take a bit of the load off of the low end, but the bass is decent. They are spaced about four and a half feet apart with the tweeters facing outwards, which helps the sound to spread throughout the three rooms. You can totally forget about proper imaging with these speakers, and if that is something that you are interested in, I would look elsewhere. If you are looking for "sound everywhere" however, I would certainly recommend these speakers. I paid $70 including shipping, and would feel comfortable spending up to $100 if I had to do it again, but I wouldn't pay to buy these new.

For the average person, in many different settings, these speakers are more than adequate, and I'm sure they would say they sound great (maybe even "the best speakers ever"). If you lean more to the audiophile end of the spectrum, they will be found quite lacking (i.e. muddy bass, only decent midrange, muffled highs, and forget about sound imaging).

These speakers were exactly what I was looking for in order to fill the downstairs of the house with music, and they do it well.

I added this set of speakers to an existing sound system and really love the result. I would recommend these speakers to anyone looking for quality sound at a reasonable price. I have Bose outdoor speakers also and love them, and also Bose ipod sound dock. Haven't found a Bose product that doesn't perform above expectations.
