|PopCap's word-loving worm embarks on an epic quest to save an oracle named Cassandra in Bookworm Adventures. As in earlier games, players are challenged to build words by selecting letter tiles positioned on a grid. Unlike previous titles, letters do not have to be connected to one another. Bookworm Adventures features yet another twist: the design is closer to a role-playing game than a traditional action puzzle title. Each word formed on the 4x4 grid is used as an "attack" against more than 150 mythological monsters.|
One-on-one battles take place from a side-view perspective within the screen's top half as each side trades health-depleting blows. The larger the word, the more damage is dealt. Players will also gain experience over time, allowing Lex the Bookworm to receive more health or other attribute-enhancing powers. Players can even acquire helpful items and potions to use in battle. In addition to the main Adventure mode, Bookworm Adventures includes a monster-battling Arena mode and three word-oriented mini-games.

This game is a spelling sensation of epical proportions. You help Lex build words to battle monsters. You spell words from a collection of letter tiles as you travel through three storybooks in pursuit of your friend Cassandra. Vanquish villains, and annihilate over a ton of scary enemies. This game also has exciting mini-games and brilliant bonus modes. Try to unlock the Tome of Knowledge. You`ll see why Bookworm Adventures is truly a fun and great game to play. Great for your vocabulary.
I had no problem downloading to Vista. This is a fun game to play as well as a good educational tool in spelling for our three kids.I must admit I did think this was going to be the bookworm with the library in it
but just the same a fun game
The game was fine and just as decribed, but the only problem was that even though it stated it could be used on Windows Vista, it would not load onto zvista. I had to buy it out of the website so it was like paying for the same game twice. If you are Vista users, beware of games that state compatable with Vista.
Still love the game.
Bookworm is an excellent educational game. I play it for fun and to help my adult daughter learn the value of spelling. It is a good game for adults to play with children of any age to reinforce spelling and friendly competition.
