Very impressed with my first Blackberry, the Blackberry Bold!

First impressions of this phone are great. It was very easy to set up. Had a little bit of a hard time setting up gmail, but with a quick search on Google, found the solution and was up and running. Have been able to navigate easily around the phone so far, and just completed setup in under 20 mins including activation. The keyboard is just as easy to use as the Droid 2 phone I just replaced...and it was easier to set up. I downgraded in screen size from the Droid 2, but no biggie. Overall I'm very please with this phone, and I got it for 180 on Ebay...can't beat it for a phone that is in like new condition with all original accessories, all of which were still in the plastic..and it came with the original box. Now all I need to do is get my music over here, and I'm good to go. Phone feels light in the hand, but solid at the same time. The track pad makes it easy to navigate around the phone. I have to say that I like using it more than a touch screen, but that's just my personal preference. I just can't stand all the screen smudges all the time. This is my first Blackberry, so we will see how it goes. I did not rate the battery yet, just activated it, so maybe I will update that later, but I have heard it is very good.

My Personal Favorite

If you can see my track record here on Ebay, you'll realize I buy and sell a lot of phones on the SPRINT network. The Blackberry 9650 is without a shadow of a doubt my favorite phone to date.

Its fast, its reliable, it looks professional, it has a sensational keyboard, and its 6.0 ready. (Blackberry's new operating system) WiFi, bluetooth, BBM, facebook, twitter, push email, gtalk, yahoo messenger, MSN messenger, AIM, it runs all of these and more without skipping a beat. Very good battery life for a smart phone of this caliber. Camera is decent and does come with a flash, unlike the new Curves.

There are no cons to this phone except for Price. Its still a little high for not being 4g capable or having a huge touchscreen. BUT that is only if you like touchscreen devices, which I personally do not.

All I know is I have Two Android phones, an Instinct HD, and a Web Os Palm Pre, I could be using and have chosen the Blackberry Bold over all of them.

So far so good. The phone is sleek, easy to use, and does what I need it to. This is my first Blackberry device and I am quite pleased with it. The internet is fast, you can customize contacts and message settings a bunch of different ways, and you are able to import contacts from Microsoft Outlook. Battery life seems pretty good, although I do no spend much time in the browser so if you play a lot of games and browse the internet all the time, I'm sure it will suck the life out of the battery a lot quicker. I have not had any problems with dropped calls or any service issues for that matter. The keypad is pretty good sized, I have large hands and I was afraid I would have trouble but I rarely "miss hit" keys. I don't have any complaints at this point, I have only had the phone for less than a week though so that could change. Right now, I love the phone and I don't foresee and problems with it unless I physically break it or it stops working for no apparent reason. Great device!!

Excellent Phone, Amazing Abilities, Works Perfect

This is my first ever Blackberry. I wanted a new phone, and I did not want a touchscreen. I hate touchscreen phones. If your fingers are too hot and sweaty, they malfunction. If your fingers are frozen from being out in the cold, they malfunction. If the phone itself is too hot (left in a car), they malfunction. And if your phone is too cold (ski trip), they malfunction. Plus, when you are driving, you have to look down at ALL touchscreen phones to dial, forcing me to pull over. Buttons phones are the way to go, otherwise the Samsung Fascinite is the way to go.

I chose this Blackberry because it has larger buttons and the numbers for dialing are red, instead of gray. I have already linked my calendar with my outlook and yahoo accounts, and everything works fabulous. The only thing I do not like about it, and I am not sure how to change it, is using the voice dial. When using voice dial, you have to say the last name first, followed by the first name. This gets confusing, for entries like, "Mrs. B." I have to say, "Call B, Mrs., Home." Other than that, the phone is fabulous. I will not trade it in unless I break it or it becomes too outdated. One other concern, the amount of data this thing can hold. What if I break it, or just want to update it. Can stores possibly transfer all the information, like names, numbers, addresses, e-mails, birthdays, anniversaries

I found my phone for under $150 on Ebay, which included an Otter Box case. Since I did not re-new my contract with Verizon, this would have cost me over $550 retail, a great savings. Make sure the seller has positive feedback, anything less than 98% should be questioned and researched as to why.

Blackberry users will love it, all others will find it difficult to learn, especially those used to IPhones, but once learned you will be converted to Blackberry.

Great Smartphone

This is a great Blackberry device for the Verizon network. Keyboard is easy to use, after you've gotten used to it - especially if you were a touch screen user. Blackberry App world could be better and easier to use but it still offers some nice applications. The Bold 9650 would have to be one of the more higher end Blackberry devices you can get. Nice speeds and little to none freeze ups. If you're looking for a business email phone this would be a very good choice. Emails are received very quickly - sometimes faster than on my computer. Battery life isn't too bad. I previously had the HTC Incredible and that battery barely lasted a day. My Bold 9650 lasts me well through a day if not through a second day. I would recommend a car charger for those on the go - check out the Motorola charger with the blue logo. I've had my phone for about 6 months now and have had no major problems with it. If you have Verizon and are looking to get a nice functional/professional smartphone that has great email capabilities, you might want to look into the Bold 9650.
