over all this is a great show, very funny. and has new things, situations and antics going on to keep one interested and laughing, as well as some different characters here and there, as well as other characters coming back now-and-then... unlike most sitcoms. which keeps this series both entertaining and funny. but also interesting.
PLEASE NOTE: with these box sets only season 2 has 4 discs, the rest have 3 discs. for some reason the manufacturer of these box sets put a 3 disc season in a case that holds 4 discs. so, when you open it and see one disc slot is empty... don't be alarmed, like i was, lol... nothing's wrong, every episode in each season is contained on just 3 discs. (except season 2, which does have 4 discs)
just an FYI :)
I bought this DVD collection because I watched a couple of episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" at my daughter's house while taking care of my grandsons. I was laughing so hard I nearly peed myself!! I decided I wanted to start the series from the beginning so I knew who was who and what's what!
I am SO glad I did!! Sheldon never ceases to amaze me and I can always count on a darn good belly laugh! Rag and Howard are tied for my 2nd place characters and then Penny and Leonard. There hasn't been a single episode that I haven't enjoyed and literally laughed out loud to!
I LOVE THIS SHOW and I'm a Faithful watcher of every episode!! I hope the shows stay on for a long time. If Sheldon (and I'm not certain of his real namme) hasn't won awards for his OUTSTANDING performances...HE SHOULD!! NO ONE deserves awards more than this man's performances!! His dialogues is OUTSTANDING and so is his character!!
Kudo's to the creaters and writers of THE BIG BANG THEORY and I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone!! You'll literally be LAUGHING OUT LOUD!!
This TV series is by far, the funniest on television today. The 4 males who star in it are so nerdy that you can't help but fall in love with all of them. Kaley, who plays "Penny" on the show, contrasts the other four perfectly, by her portrayal of a not too bright, wanna be actress who works as a waitress at the cheesecake factory. This show is a great escape from all the reality shows and crime dramas that bombard prime time TV.
The Big Bang Theory might be the best comedy series for all times. Although my DVD player wouldn't play the first disk in the second season, the DVD player in my computer would. However, I didn't see any damage to the disk. Overall, the value of the purchase was excellent.
The show is centered on five characters: roommates Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, two physicists who work at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech); Penny, a blonde waitress and aspiring actress who lives across the hall; and Leonard and Sheldon's equally geeky and socially awkward friends and co-workers aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz and astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappali. The geekiness and intellect of the four guys is contrasted for comic effect with Penny's social skills and common sense. Three other supporting characters have also been promoted to starring roles: Leslie Winkle, a physicist colleague at Caltech and, at different times, a lover of both Leonard and Howard; Bernadette Rostenkowski, Howard's fiancée, who is a microbiologist and part-time waitress alongside Penny; and Amy Farrah Fowler, a neurobiologist who joins the group after being matched to Sheldon on a dating website.
