This was a comedy when it first came out, we were a little shaky on. We have grown to love the Friends and Two and a Half Men, which we currently own all of. Once season 3 came out on TV, we really started getting into this series. We just got Season 1 and 2 of the Big Bang Theory, and to be honest, I find it even better now, since we can see how they currently are on the new series on TV, then to go back and see how they all were from the start. It is a blast, and I highly recommend it.
I have only had a chance to watch a few episodes of the Big Bang Theory on TV. Being able to watch them sans commercials is exquisite. The Big Bang Theory has to be the best sitcom ever written. It is intellectual with unbelievable insights into our everyday banter. The characters created are such a balance for each other. Much like a thinking-man's Seinfeld, the interaction of strong characters are so much fun to watch. It has been a long time since I have laughed out loud -- repeatedly -- while watching a show. I am hooked on it. And I am slowing getting my friends hooked on it, too.
I consider this show to be the second best ever made, second to Two and a Half Men. The show has a very "different" cast with the polar opposites of Sheldon and Penny. This makes for a very good show.
This is a really good show with science based humor as well many character quirks to keep you laughing. It is definitely a new type of comedy TV show as not many TV shows give their characters a highly intelligent role to play. I also have respect for the physics advisor they have for The Big Bang Theory. All of the science is real and relevant as their advisor is responsible for the calculations on all of the white boards on set.
Bottom Line: Really funny show with innovation in the cast of characters and writing that invents a new brand of Sitcom.
A funny, funny show. Different from all other comedies out there. The premise is this group of super smart "geeks" who are neighbors of "Penny" an attractive, waitress wanna be actress. The writers are super great b/c the material is always new and fresh.
