Beloved Disney classic BUT 2002 Platinum edition better

I am a DVD person Have been for 10 years now

My review below from the 2002 DVD Platinum Edition
IF YOU ARE A DVD PERSON LIKE ME GET THIS VERSION IF YOU CAN FIND IT.

Disney should be ashamed of themselves that they think everyone is going Blu Ray
Machines & discs WAY MORE EXPENSIVE.

Here the regular DVD has the 3 versions of the film (like the 2002 DVD did) & NO EXTRAS.
All the extras I want to see are on the blu ray
In 2010 Disney did the same thing they did in 2009 with the Diamond edition of Snow White Blu ray pack in October & WE DO NOT CARE ABOUT OUR CUSTOMERS regular DVD package Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

I hope that Disney LOST A LOT OF SALES BECAUSE OF THIS. I KNOW I AM NOT HAPPY

ON THE FILM
A true classic & beloved film!!
Excellent story, characters &music.
The first animated film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Like many other Disney films, it was such a shame the category of Best Animated Film was not done for this year.
Never get tired of watching the film.
I do enjoy the DVD version of the film. I always enjoy making of &behind the scenes segments.

Everything I hoped it would be

I have always enjoyed this movie, especially the special edition. I knew to expect a great picture, but the first scene just blew me away. I remember seeing the movie in IMAX and seeing such clarity. This Blu-ray has the richest colors I have ever seen in an animated feature. Disney did this right. Every frame was crystal clear and even the dark colors were great. The difference between the Blu-ray and the DVD is profound enough to make one say "now it is time to buy a Blu-ray player. Having all 3 versions of the movie is wonderful. The Sound is so clear and completely free of any noticeable distortion from the dts-HD soundtrack. The channel separation really puts the viewer into the movie as Disney really used and enhanced the rear channels.

Beauty and the beast blu ray

This is one of Disney best ever animated films, and to be able to watch it on blu ray makes it all worth the while, watching a movie like this in HD is just amazing and the colors are great, so much better than the dvd, trust me this movie in blu ray will be as big as it was first time around and well worth buying.

Great Movie

I love this movie so much I got it so I can show my son what we use to watch when I was his age.Beauty finds the Beast not unpleasant, but turns down his periodic requests for her hand in marriage. When she becomes unbearably homesick, the Beast permits her to visit her family on condition that she return in a specified period of time. At home, Beauty’s sisters cajole her into breaking her promise to the Beast, and when she finally returns to the castle, she finds the Beast in the garden, dying of a broken heart. Beauty realizes that she loves the Beast, and when she tells him so, he is transformed back into a handsome prince. He explains that he had been transformed into a Beast for behaving in a bestial manner, and only by finding someone who loved him in spite of his appearance was the curse broken

Disney Beauty and the Beast - True Classic

Of all the fine Disney animated film of the '90s, this stands out for the animation, voice acting and especially those songs, better than most Broadway musicals these days - no wonder this became a Broadway show eventually. A great family film and more.
