Movie synopsis
In his big-screen debut, the BBC's beloved, bumbling, barely verbal Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson) lands in the plastic wasteland of Los Angeles, where he has been sent to "guard" Whistler's Mother as it changes hands between the London National Art Gallery and a chichi private gallery. Absurd laughs from the hilarious Atkinson.

Review For: Bean (DVD, 2002)

Just look at the man on the cover. The bug-eyes, the mischievous smile, that's what you're getting out of Bean: The Movie -- 91 minutes of pure, undistilled Bean.

The movie has Mr. Bean sent to America to accompany Whistler's Mother, a painting of great import that has been recently purchased by an American general (Burt Reynolds). While there, he is mistaken as an art genius, and despite the obvious signs to the contrary, the rest of the cast goes along with the notion, believing him to simply be eccentric.

What happens next? Well, Bean happens, that's what. What does that mean? You'll have to watch the movie to find out, but if you are familiar with Mr. Bean, you can probably take a pretty good guess right about now.

Rowan Atkinson as Mr. Bean and Peter MacNicol as David Langley, the art curator for the museum, are very good in their roles, performing admirably in them as David plays the straight man to Bean's wackiness.

The DVD is presented in widescreen format. The bonus features include an "I Love LA" music video, theatrical trailers, and film and cast bios.

If you enjoy zany, slapstick comedy performed at its most brilliant, then Bean: The Movie is your cup of tea.

Laugh out loud funny!

Review For: Bean (DVD, 2002)

I bought this Mr Bean DVD a few weeks ago. This is Mr Bean in his element, very funny and entertaining. The reserved British character in the USA makes a wonderful story. Not the best house guest to have around but very amusing. The catch at the end will leave you with a smile on your face!!

Review For: Bean (DVD, 2002)

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE MOVIE IS THAT IT'S CLASSIC MR. BEAN HUMOR. SOME OF THE JOKES IN THE MOVIE ARE FROM THE HBO SERIES. I DECIDED TO BUY THE MOVIE BECAUSE IT'S VERY HARD TO FIND NOWADAYS.
