|EA DICE's flagship military combat series continues with Battlefield 3, a first-person shooter with destructible environments, large-scale maps, controllable vehicles, and online support for up to 64 simultaneous players. The single-player campaign, which the publisher estimates to be 12 hours in length, features multiple playable characters in a structure similar to Activision's Call of Duty franchise.|
In a storyline set in 2014, you'll play as a Russian agent sent to stop a terrorist attack in Paris, a Marine corporal in the Tehran desert, and as others in missions set in Sarajevo, New York, Wake Island, Oman, and Sulaymaniyah. The Frostbite physics engine introduced in the Battlefield: Bad Company spin-off series has been enhanced, now allowing for the complete destruction of buildings and scenery objects as well as vision blurring or blinding effects. Soldiers can also shoot from the prone position.
The multiplayer game features a choice of team-based options. Conquest has your side trying to claim and hold different areas of the battlefield, while rush involves one team trying to quickly advance across a map as the other team defends. Team deathmatch is also included, and there are four available classes in the game: assault, support, recon, and engineer. In addition to larger maps and support for 40 more simultaneous players than the console versions, Battlefield 3 on PC is designed to run at twice the frame rate (60 frames per second versus 30).
The Limited Edition version of Battlefield 3 is available to all consumers who pre-order the game from retailers before its official release date. The Limited Edition adds the "Back to Karkand" expansion at no extra cost. This add-on includes four multiplayer maps from the original Battlefield 2, each with updated visuals and destructible elements. The maps are among the most played environments in the series to date and include Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman, and Sharqi Peninsula. Also available are classic weapons and vehicles from Battlefield 2.

Battlefield 3 is a great game. That's all there is to it. If you own a PC that can run it, I would definitely recommend this game to anybody. The only thing though is that if you do not have internet, the game would be a let down. For the most part, the only part worth purchasing is the multiplayer. The single player is nice, average, yet generic campaign that you wouldn't expect. Definitely not the blockbuster action you would get from say MW3 for instance, but who buys an FPS for the story! It's good, not as good as Bad Company 2 or MW2 or 3, but still very good. A lot of care was taken into the game, but I feel that the single player was the only part that was lacking. Besides the fact it isn't that great, its only 4 to 5 hours long. Now we'll move onto the multiplayer. What everyone's here for. If your PC can run it at 40-60 Frames a second, you will enjoy this game, SO MUCH. The graphics are beautiful first off, everything looks great from the textures on rocks to guns to vehicles to everything. It all looks stunning. I own the game on the Xbox and PS3 and I have to say that the graphics like #1 on the PC BY FAR. This is obviously due to the fact that the Xbox and PS3 are old systems, but still, even the PC on medium settings produces a greater experience than on consoles. Besides that, there are so many things to do. I don't think you will ever get bored with this game. Buddy up with 3 of your friends and create a squad, or just pair up with randoms, if you all have Mics the game is going to be in your favor. You don't need killstreaks in order to succeed in battlefield, you just need co-ordination, which you get with the great squad system. With your buddies spawning in on eachother and each person fulfilling their own role that will ultimately help the team, the game is so fun and rewarding just for playing it the right way. If you work together you will feel the reward, unlike other shooters out there *cough*Call of Duty*cough*. There are so many things to unlock that I don't think you could ever get bored. With the 3 classes you can always switch things up, and they all have different yet similar weapons and unique perks. From ribbons and badges to guns and attachments and soldier uniforms and dogtags there are so many things to collect to personalize your soldier and make your character unique. I don't think any other game could capture this rewarding feeling of having your squad come out on top or your team dominate the opposition. If you have the money and the system JUST BUY THIS GAME ITS BLOODY AMAZING.
I give this game a 4/5 only due to the storyline being complete garbage, but if they fix that up the game would be a 5/5. BUY IT ITS THE MULTIPLAYER THAT MATTERS.
Oh yeah. Jets.
best , fps in years....
graphically stunning , gameplay addictive.... a great game overall ...
the single player story could have been better ( and less like COD ) : while the single player lacks of the adrenaline and intensity comparing to call of duty, it s still a pretty interesting and you still have some intense amazing action moment .. overall the single player is as good as call of duty to me because it feels a more like the reality , it feels more like real life , and the single player is longer than the cod campaing....
SO the Single player is pretty cool !
but the MULTIPLAYER is the most amazing of the genre.
unlock weapons , discover numerous maps , coop , start understanding the tactics and then start building your team ! bf3 is a must .... ( its the CS of our recent years...)
the only down side , is that it is a game for skilled people .. so you ll need time , months and years to really exploit the full power of the game.
While COD may have a better single player campaign, BF3 has the best multiplayer anywhere hands down. Loads of vehicles and acres of terrain on each map make multiplayer a blast. Things don't get repetitive like COD.
Awesome addition to the Battlefield series. Campaign is epic. Multiplayer is so much fun! There are tons of things to unlock and tons of attachments for your gun. Overall a fantastic gaming experience. Dont miss out!
Also make sure that you have an up to date video/graphics card otherwise it may be hard to run. Im playing with a geforce gt 220 (really outdated) on low settings and it still looks and performs great!
Best first person shooter/war simulator available to date, graphics are intense and unique to the Battlefield style, more servers open than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
