Movie synopsis
Included in the "Band of Brothers/The Pacific" 13-disc set are two war drama TV miniseries created by a team of Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks. "Band of Brothers" is based on the book of the same name that draws off actual interviews and journals by soldiers from World War II. The series, winner of a 2002 Emmy for Outstanding Miniseries, follows several soldiers from the Easy Company. "The Pacific," winner of a 2010 Emmy for Outstanding Miniseries, centers on the efforts of three soldiers of the Pacific Theater. This war drama follows them through many important battles against the Japanese and highlights their struggles. Bonus features on the "Band of Brothers/The Pacific" 13-disc set include a documentary on the lives of post-war soldiers from both war series. Plus, the documentary shows rarely seen footage from the Second World War. "Band of Brothers/The Pacific" DVD set comes with English, French, and Spanish subtitles as well as matching language tracks. "Band of Brothers" stars Scott Grimes and Ron Livingston, among many others, and "The Pacific" stars Joseph Mazzello, Jon Seda, and more.

Great box set. For anyone who enjoyed these two series, get this!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I bought this product because I didn't have The Pacific box set and I really wanted to upgrade from the Band of Brother DVD tin boxset I had from 2002/2003. Several friends had tried to dissuade me from getting the BluRays since they said the DVD's upscaled well and they didn't see a need for BluRay.

The transfer to BluRay, in my opinion, was pretty good. Performing a side-by-side comparison of the Normandy invasion in the 2nd episode of Band of Brothers, it was clear the BluRay version was superior. I have not yet watched The Pacific, but I am sure that will also be an excellent rendition of that show. You can see grainy-ness in the episodes, but that is a small price compared to the distorted darks/blacks of the DVD being upscaled onto a 1080P screen - it may even be intentional.

For anyone who has purchased the original DVD tin of Band of Brothers, you will not be disappointed with this purchase. The discs are packaged in a folder which is placed inside a cardboard/magnetic container (not tin, sorry!). The folder is well made and I think it's actually nicer than the fold away style of the DVD tin.

This is one of the best movie series of all time. You really get a feel for the WW II "experience" and how ordinary people did such unbelievably extraordinary things for our country. I will certainly watch this series multiple times and encourage others to watch it so that we are remember what these soldiers did to ensure our freedom.

Also, the interviews with some of the actual soldiers portrayed in the movies are both enlightening and heart-wrenching. They are truly heroes in so many ways.

This series deserves 100 thumbs up!

I bought the product because I love war movies and this miniseries is a must have, it is very well made the sound the acting the locations and the storyline is very awesome is like a documentary, it is full of action very well made special effects and its very entertaining I would recommend to all war movie lovers.

Excellent DVD set, it put you in both the Pacific and European theatres. The DVD puts you at the battle front, with the emotions of soldiers on the sleeve. I am a history buff, and recommend putting this into your war archive.
This is not for the weak stomached it is very gory, and brings every detail of war to the forefront.
