This program is an excellent one! Comedy, drama, and romance all rolled into one! An English Catholic Priest, Fr. Peter Clifford, is sent to a small town in Ireland to the Parish Church. There he befriends everyone, except for the reining parish priest, Fr. MacAnnaly and the model parishioner, Kathleen Hendley, the local shop owner. They do not seem to approve of the new English-outsider. There is also an intense love-hate relationship blooming between Fr. Clifford and the Pub owner, Asumpta Fitzgerald. Will Fr. Clifford leave the priesthood for Asumpta? You'll have to wait until Series three to find out! Well worth the wait! The worse thing about this program, is that it ended way too soon! I have seen several Forgien programs, and this is one of the very best. You don't have to be Catholic to enjoy this one, not even a church goer! Give it a try!
Fun is a foot in the peaceful town of Ballykissangel. The season starts with a slave auction and Assumpta is won by who? Then are favorite teacher has been put out and the town has to step in to save his job. The Gospel Mass rocks the house. Father Peter has a baby on the door step and a sex talk that I wish we could of heard more about. I didn't think Quigley's new housekeeper was quite up to task and attractive you be the judge. And the town festival keeps everyone on their toes and the young delinguent finished the day with a very proud Ambrose. Kathleen really burns down the house and leaves town, but everyone puts it on the nose of a horse to bring it home. The season finishes with the revenue service hot on the trail of who doing what? Great fun, music, and all your favorites. Curl up and enjoy.
Ballykissangel is a warm mix of eccentric characters, comical storylines, serious interludes, and good entertainment. You will come to love the small Irish town and relate to the people in it. Curl up with a hot cut of cocoa (or Irish Whiskey), pull an afghan around your shoulders, and enjoy!!!
These characters are a"hoot". Love the setting, scenery and the atmosphere. Makes you want to go to Ireland. Highly recommend it
I love this show. The show is about realistic people in realistic situations dealing with real problems(unlike american television series). It tells a good, beleavable story that most people can relate to. This is a great family show
