Great for Starter's, a Nightmare for Pros!

I bought this for my friend since he is getting into the sport more seriously. I had remembered using this awhile ago as a rental from a field, so I decied that because I found it to be accuate and VERY sturdy for the price.
The truth is that it indeed is STURDY, but my friend wanted me to get some parts for customization for better aesthetics and performance. That is where your luck runs out.
People who want to customize this marker will sooner or later have to open up the marker and expose it's innards, which will reveal it's EXTREMELY POOR DESIGN!
In truth, the BT-4 Combat Paintball Marker is an adamant shell with it's parts all carelessly crammed into it without any thought into the design, much unlike my Spyder MR2 or any other decently designed Paintball Marker. When you do open the marker up, it's parts will suddenly shoot out everywhere and you will have to exert TREMENDOUS STRENGTH AND EFFORT looking at the grainy quality schematic breakdown in the manual that comes in the box, and hold down a finger or toe on each of the parts as you attempt to slam the other hal of the exterior shell back on before a part or spring comes loose. If you must know a particular example, I had to open up this product in order to replace the stock cap with a Shoulder Butt Stock, and thats where my troubles started.
And for you STARTERS out there!!! This marker may be sturdy and accurate, but it's poorly designed interior will affect you too! There is too much space within the actual marker and no constraint between the firing chamber and that space. I bought this from ebay fairly used (This review is still accurate because I have also worked with a brand new one), and when i opened it up (and had all the parts fly everywhere), and paint FLOWED LIKE A RIVER out of the gun. This occurred most likely due to a chopped paintball, and it's contents just deposited into the gun. THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR YOUR GUN IN THE LONG RUN!!!
So I'm serious. Take my advice and try not to buy this gun. If you want to buy something that looks nice and you are about to spend the ridiculous price tag of a BT-4 Combat, buy a SPYDER. I have a Spyder MR2, and If I really needed to, I can field strip it, clean it out, and put it back together without breaking a sweat. If not one of the MR series, ay other Spyder is designed just as well.
I give a Below average rating instead of a flat out POOR, merely because of it's TANK quality exterior.

Ive got one. My friend has one. Ive used a LOT of markers and the BT is just simply a good one.
Its rugged and reliable. The first thing you want. If you're a speedballer, I dont know why you'ld be looking at this. But if you like recball/woodsball or milsim. This is a great lil marker. The internals are practically identical to the tippmann (and for good reason if you look up the history). And its much easier to take a part than the alpha black/salvo. No need to worry about the trigger springs and pins going flying. Straight simple design that you can even improve on yourself (I replaced my stock power tube and bolt with an aluminum tube and aftermarket bolt.. and polished the internal frame for less friction). Plus with the rip clip and all the mods out for it. You can make it look however you want. Mine has an aluminum quad rail. Rap4 rifled barrel, flex air kit through the folding but stock, e trigger with ape rampage board mod.. and on and on. Great marker. Reliable.. and you can do whatever you want with it. Cant ask for more than that.

The bt4 combat is very basic in design but that is a good thing if this is your first marker and you need to do repairs they want be overwhelming you and at the same time it can be an upgrade gun or upgraded with numerous accessory thats made for bt and also some tippman products the gun itself is very durable and reliable and if looks a little plain..give it alittle customization and save yourselves alot of money buying something already dressed up, take a plain bt4 turn it into an ar15 sniper rifle or something for cqb like the delta elite...same gun different accessory. Anyway the bt4 is a good marker not the best on the market but not the worst either, really you can't go wrong with the bt ...don't be mistaken all markers have there issues but if yours do it want be the price of a new marker to fix it!

BT-4 a good buy

Don't listen to people when they say BT-4's are for starters. I have owned auto cockers Tippmen BT's spyders, and more. Out of all the markers I have owned the BT line is one of a favorite. Not only can you smack them against a tree with only and scratch to show, I never have had a problem in 6 years with a BT. You can also mod out BT-4's because everyone makes aftermarket parts for them. BT-4's are good for starters and pros. You can spend 100 dollars and get the basic for spend 800 dollars for all the top of the line add-ons. You won’t go wrong with a BT.

The first time I tried the marker it would not stop firing after release of the trigger.A bolt was missing in the frame. It was an easy fix. After replacing the bolt, the marker fired flawlessly & was consistent, even in the rain.
