The E-bay person I bought the game from was perfect. The game never worked because I refused to download gamespy. Maybe one day when I feel suicidal I will try again. I wasted 6 hours on it trying to make it work. Gamespy kept pinging my machine until I just gave up on it. It cost me 100 dollars to get gamespy removed from my machine. ( Trust me I know how to uninstall install programs, their hidden spy ware was the problem.) It turned out damm gamespy logged itself past my firewall on my wife's side of the machine under a DIFFERENT FILE NAME!!!!!! Maybe a great machine man would of picked that off, but ok I did not. I called, E-mailed, snail mailed atari/gamespy and never got a response to my pleas for help! I just made the computer dealer on the corner a quick 100 bills. ( Granted I had memory upgrade too!) I will never again buy anything from ass in nine ATARI, my vow!!!!!!
The game is not nearly as graphic as Civilizations 3, but it is enjoyable nevertheless. What is really needed out there is a game that entails WW11 but with the graphics and detail of a turned based strategy game such as Civ3. Axis and Allies is easy to learn though and is not a bad game for beginners at video games.
when i got it in the mail i installed it and the computer made one move and then the game had to shut down i tried to restart many times. i feel ripped off and will never purchase anything else off of e bogus
the game is nothing like the older axis and allies computer game. don't buy it, just play the revised version online for free
This is a fun game. For those who enjoy Axis & Allies but can't always find friends to play the board game, this is a great alternative. The game is straightforward and presents enough of a challenge that you will be entertained. I can certainly see a young person having to use a few brain cells thinking through production, combat, and overall strategy. The price of this pc game was reasonable. So even if it isn't the game for you -- you won't suffer buyers remorse either.
Like any game, a person can grow tired of repetition, but the ability to play different sides -- British, Russian, German, Japanese, or USA should offer variety.
