Product description
Product Information
Axis & Allies is a multiplayer video game developed for the PC. Set in the backdrop of World War II, this strategy video game allows you to be a part of history and virtually create your own version. In this PC game, you decide which of the five super powerful nations - Russia, Germany, England, Japan, and the United States - you want to be, while the other four are controlled by other players or by the PC. The turn-based Axis & Allies utilizes dice rolls to give the battles its decisive outcome. This PC game features the entire world map on a single screen and each sect alternatively attacks territories or units. With hot seat, LAN, or Internet connection, playing this strategy video game is exciting in the multiplayer mode.

    A&A PC Game a Winner

If you're familiar with the board game Axis & Allies, the PC Windows early versions of this game were very true to the original game and made playing this a lot easier (and faster). The AI with the four-star computer generals you face is very good but it falls short of an opponent that can throttle you (good thing actually) if you're a good player. If not, I guess it will eventually beat you but there always seems to be a window you can take before you hit the wall.

Although there are some minor quirks for some options, nothing major that departs from the purist version of the game. When I first purchased this many moons ago, there was a patch on the Hasbro web site that fixed the option quirks (there was a bug with the paratrooper capability and I think the game would allow you to use fighters you couldn't always land at sea). I didn't test that all of those quirk are in my version but I assume so. Great game though. Worthy every penny.

    Excellent

If your a World War II buff then this is a must have game. It is turn based but there is plenty to keep your attention. You get to chose to either be England, Germany, Japan, Russia or United States each which requires their own strategy. You have units like infantry, tanks, fighters, bombers, battleships, aircraft carriers, submarines etc. You get points for the amount of territory you won called IPCs which go towards building more units at the beginning of each turn. There is also research development which allows you to put points towards upgrading your units.

All in all its a really good game if your into World War II and dont mind a good turn based game. Its one of my favorite games.

    Oldie, but a Goodie

This game is more true to the original board game than most I have played. Even if you play the game as a single player you will have many different countries and ways of making it easy or difficult to play that one should never get bored of playing. The AI is not the greatest, but again one can find ways of making it difficult to win every time no matter what country you play.

    Axis and Allies, Very good!

I really enjoy this game. I Play the board game and very few people play with me from lack of knowing how too. So i bought this in hope that maybe I could play, with no pun intended, with myself :P. And I got just that, even has bundled RTS Play so you can do a WARCRAFT style fight system, or just quick resolve and your battle will be ended based on strength and forces. Very fair price for merchandise, and a very good game, 4.8/5*

    RTS WWII game goodness

I like the simplistic way of playing were rts games made today are too complicated to play. The graphics are good enough and the money system is tune with the levels you need to get a competitive game play. In addition to play others online is added fun.
