Assault on Precinct 13

It is New Year s Eve, and this police precinct is holding on by a
thread, threatened with permanent closure due to budget constraints.
With nothing more than a bare-bones operation to back him up, Detective
Jake Roenick (Ethan Hawke) must take on a deadly mob of criminals
who have thrown down the gauntlet and are openly hunting down a heinous
kingpin (Laurence Fishburne) in a battle for street sovereignty.
Roenick must turn to other prisoners to assist him in keeping themselves
alive as well as holding on to the police station. Jean Richet
(Mesrine & Public Enemy #1 (2003 edition in foreign language) directs
this movie and it is his best work thus far as a director. Still it
is only a average to good movie, however, if you like action or adventure
movies - This one should be to your liking and give you a good evening
of viewing--especially if you get it at a reduced Ebay price.

Three ordinary people overcome the odds

Story action takes place on New Year's Eve in a police precinct that is due to be shut down. At the start of the film, main character Ethan Hawke took up precinct desk work because he had made an earlier command decision that cost lives. However, as the plot develops, he learns the truth about the reason for the assault and decides to take charge of the group defending the precinct and its prisoners. The action is hard and suspenseful. The characters, as diverse as they were, watch each other's backs. Which characters survive? Get the DVD. Very good action movie.

IT WAS A GREAT MOVIE WITH A NICE LITTLE TWIST AT THE END. I BOUGHT THE MOVIE AS SOON AS IT CAME OUT. WITH A MIXED CAST OF ETHAN HAWKE, LAURENCE FISHBURNE, JOHN LEGUIZAMO MARIA BELLO, JA RULE, DREA DE MATTEO ITS GOT TO BE GOOD.

For an action movie - - - try this one ! ! !

This is an excellent thriller of a drama. It has an excellent cast; the script is well written; the acting is excellent; and, the directing is par excellence.
The theme is highly realistic; the setting for the movie couldn't have been better chosen. The plot and the action move readily and rapidly along. You wouldn't be disappointed in watching this DVD or in purchasing it for your DVD library.
